This video shows you how to install the driver’s side mirror but the procedure will be the same on either side of your 2011-2019 Ford Explorer. Hey, thanks for the usefull info made the install a breeze. For other users it's completely doable without removing the door side panel. It's a little finnicky because there is a plastic tab infront of the bottom screw but a 10mm wrench can easily get in and break the nut loose. You just have to be carefull not to drop it inside the side panel or you will have to remove the side panel to find the nut.

Thank you for a great video. Two comments: 1) I did not remove the door. 2) The electrical plug was difficult to remove from the socket. You need to depress small clips on the wiring harness plug. They are hard to see and a pick is needed to depress them. You just cannot pull, if it is not easy you have not depressed the clips. Showing the clips, plug,☺☺☺ and socket in the video would be an improvement. I do not work on cars, so it is all new to me. Thanks again your help saved me money and time. Great video.

Ive had a side mirror replaced before on my 2015, and it did not require taking off the door

After replacing the mirror the sensor for blind side warning comes up on the dash. all connections are solid and the mirror works fine other than that. Anyone know how to get the blind side warning to work properly?

You can skip taking off the door panel.... Insert a srunched up piece of napkin underneath the bottom bolt to plug up the whole so that the bolt does not fall down into the door.
