This video shows you how to install new, quality, TRQ headlight assemblies on your 2011-2019 Ford Explorer. Over time, headlight lenses become dull and hazy. You'd be surprised how much that affects your night time visibility! Replacing your headlight assembly is an easy way to improve safety and appearance on your vehicle.

Stop now! If you are just replacing a headlamp, you don't have to do this. It's a little bit difficult because you can't see it very well on the left headlamp. You remove the rubber cover, follow this guy's instructions for about 2 seconds, unsnap the bulb, rotate counter-clockwise and the old bulb comes out. If it is the first time the bulb has been replaced there is a bit of extra wire inside. Unwinding this extra wire makes it so much easier to connect and snap the bulb into it's place. Push the bulb in and rotate clockwise. Make sure the headlights work replace the rubber cover and you're done.

I think people misunderstand the video. This isn’t what you need to do to change the bulb, this what you need to do to change the headlamp assembly.

This is a good video if you need to remove the headlight lens assembly. You do not need to take any screws out to change any of the bulbs in the headlight assembly. The turn signal bulb takes a little maneuvering , once you unscrew it, to get out but is easily done. The headlight and side marker light are easily accessible and come right out.

Tremendous level of engineering by Ford! Headlight replacement technique of the 1950’s was “light years” ahead of what today’s Ford engineers cooked up!

This is an excellent video if you are trying to replace the radiator and the headlamp assembly. But you don't have to do all that just to change the bulbs.

Great video. The passenger LEd ballast module went bad on me, and I had to tear my 2016 explorer xlt apart yesterday. My lower section had 3 bolts connecting to the upper fender, each side on the inside, where yours snapped together @4:15. I was a bit surprised(perturbed). Thanks for the video.

There are 3 bolts up inside the fender failed to say needed to be removed use 10 mm ratcheting wrench

Was considering replacing the headlights on my 2014 explorer . Welp not anymore. You seriously half to disassemble the front end of the vehicle just to swap out the headlamps??? What were they thinking!!???

I just watched another video and they didn't take anything apart they just reached in and pulled the rubber part off and changed the bulb without taking apart the front bumper?

Can't you reach the bulbs from the inside. Just have to pop the hood and you can reach the backside of the headlight. Doing too much here.

You can. You need child-sized hands to do it. Whoever designed it had billable shop hours in mind.

Correction, you can access just one of the bulbs if you have little hands. The low-beam bulb can’t be reached without removing the entire assembly.

This is the only video that took off the bumper. All the other videos just went in and reached behind the socket

Take the wheels and inner fender wells out? Seems excessive. Unbolt the side of the bumper, hold it forward enough to get the bolts out of the headlight assembly. Less than 10 min per side, even with a union break

closest to fender is low beam, towards the grill is high beam

Low and high beam are in the same bulb. You can replace them without removing anything but the rubber boot.

This is completely unnecessary for incandescent bulbs. You can change them without pulling the front. HID bulbs are a different story and held in by tiny torque screws. This is a joke
