I managed the passenger side bulbs following the manual and even the park/position light on the drivers side but the driver side headlamp was impossible. Plus I absolutely scratched my hands to hell getting that done, and I've got small hands I can't imagine someone with regular or large hands even managing that. I gave up and found this later that day. Thank you. Very easy, not very time consuming relative to my failed attempt, got the job done. Cheers.

Great easy to follow instructions. Just did the bulb change on a 2005 Jazz/Fit this is by far the easiest way to change the bulbs. Do your self a favour and spend the extra $10 to do both bulbs whilst you are there. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
@StromboliKicks3 жыл бұрын
I just tried following the manual's car to replace the h4 bulb on my 2005 jazz (driver's side). They explain the process of going underneath where you remove a small part of the plastic cover. Well, good luck. You can't see shit. The bulb gets stuck in the spring wire, then to put the new one it's pain again, and I gave up when I needed to put the rubber cover. I'll try either removing the bumper or completely remove the plastic cover from the tire. I don't know what they're thinking when they design the car like this. It's a good car (original bulb lasted 15 years) but holy hell this process is a pain in the ass.

Many thanks for the video. Last time I changed the bulb I went in from the wheel arch. It took several hours and much pain, especially since headlamp bulbs only seem to break when it is wintery cold, and I don't have a place to work undercover. Taking the bumper off seems like a lot of hassle, but it was only 40 mins to change bulbs on both sides, you can stand up, and see what you are doing and everything worked just like on the video. Definitely my preferred method.

man, going from the inside of the wheel arch 2 or 3 times, makes you almost an expert and then you'll be able to change both H4 bulbs in less than 10 minutes! Ask me how I know! :D

Brilliant way to change the bulbs, takes less than an hour to do this way. I also tried under the mudguard method, but it took way longer than taking the bumper and the headlight down. 10/10 would recommend!

i come from the days when changing a light bulb was a 2 min job. i was a mechanic for about 20 years .out of the game now but i still do bits on my own cars,friends and neighbours et.c. its a piss take how on what used to be a simple job now takes you more like 30 mins. i had a few now where i had to take the bumper off and also take the light out. anyway thanks for the video. i only come for a quick look. as somebody i know with this car was having trouble on how to fit the bulb, i already had a quick look and sort of guessed it was bumper and light out. this confirmed it. cheers.

Nice job demo on this video. You did an exceptional job detailing the removal of the plastic retention fasteners. Those can be a real pain when one does not have good visibility prior to removal. Same goes for the removal of electrical connectors.One comment. To replace the headlamp bulb, the screw does not need to be removed. The bulb is held in place with a spring clip that needs only to be depressed to unlock. Then the bulb then backs out and can be replaced without removing the screw or the entire module. Thank you!

Really clear and helpful video. It seems like a lost of hassle to change a bulb, but on a freezing cold day, working at the curbside, your method is actually quicker and far less painful (and bloody) than trying to get in from under the wheel arch - I tried that last time, never again. Many thanks!

You saved me $60 which is what John Blair Honda was asking to do this. Thank you. Dinner for two. One comment : The very first bolt you touched in your video actually screws into a little metal clip which came loose and I lost while unscrewing. The clip on bumper stays in place without it so It's ok.

I presume Honda are prepaired to pay the bili to have this done as it is down to them with the bad design? Good luck doing this on the roadside after being stopped by police at night with a headlamp out... how long do you think a seventy year old lady would take to do it! I’ve got a 2006 honda jazz and I’d recommend this method. I’ve tried through the wheel arch and while the start is easy, getting the bulb back in and the spring closed over is difficult without a hoist, especially drivers side. Take the bumper off. Much easier. But you will need a ratchet set.

I did the same job. I chose this method over removing the wheel well cover and going from underneath. If one bulb has blown, chances are the others are going to blow soon so I always replace the whole set (side, indicator and headlight) because it saves a load of bother later. And if you're replacing more than one, it is much easier to withdraw the whole unit than to jack the car up and remove the wheel and wheel well cover IMO. I guess they don't make it easy to replace bulbs because they are so damn reliable (my first bulb blew at 86,000 miles). The video is really clear but that sunken bolt at the bottom light fitting is a total b****ard to get to because you can't see it and you can only just feel it. I found the bumper a bit difficult to remove - there are some clips which you need to depress to get it to unclip. Good video Fix and Drive. Thanks :)
