@mRGP94 I have an 03 lancer and my car is cranking but won't start and I think my fuel pump went as well. What signs told you your pump was bad? Did replacing the pump fix your issue?

@@levidean1029 same signs but I'm not 100% sure it's just the pump, I'll replace it this week but it could also be my coil pack or my catalytic converter(it was stolen so I'm thinking coil pack or fuel pump)

if you take off the seat like on the video .. you should be able to hear if the pump was coming on or not

Would replacing the pump clear a P0183 code? It calls for a fuel pump sensor but that part is not available anywhere. I’m assuming it’s part of the fuel pump assembly.

recently i replaced the fuel pump on a 04 outlander ( same procedure) but the car won’t start up any ideas what went wrong of theres anything extra to do after the replacement??

No not really. Was the cat starting before? What was the reason for the removal? Have you double checked the connector and fuel lines to make sure it’s connected? Maybe faulty fuel pump

Hello, do you think it is better to remove the fuel pump with less fuel in the tank? For example 1/4 or less of fuel will make this job easier?

How do you release fuel line pressure before removing the fuel pump??? Cannot find the Schrader valve

if there is no valve .. you can remove the fuel pump fuse .. and crank it so the fuel left in the lines goes into the engine and hopefully the lines will empty

@@FalconsGarage after you unplug fuel pump fuse, crank and burn the remaining fuel. Replaced the fuel pump. Does the car automatically prime the fuel lines?

@@aykenlotre5762 it primes when you turn the ignition. may have to turn it all the way off and on again a few times to get pressure.

I have gas smell and hissing and ringing sound almost like a whistle sound. I don’t know if they related. Do you think it’s because of the fuel pump?

Could be. But I would try to find where the gas smell is coming from first.

I have the same issue but my car always throws incorrect purge flow and faulty fuel tank pressure sensor/switch I’ve changed both and the codes and noises and smells persist. Car also intermittently doesn’t start or takes a while so I truly think it has to do with air/fuel ratio or a faulty fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator

Try rock auto they’ll ship to you as well as has great prices I get most of my parts for my lancer on there :) I’d rather get new rather than used from a junk yard

that sensor goes on the fuel level sensor on THIS car start by checking that and or those cables

Is the fuel filter in the fuel pump ?

There is a fuel screen on the pump. The actual filter is usually under the hood in this vehicles

😢😢😢 I replaced the gas pump for my mitsubishi lancer 2009. The engine light went off for 2 days code P0171, and now is back 😡 someone else has the same problem ?

bank 1 lean code is most likely have nothing to do with the tank issues you had .. look for a vacuum leak on the engine or something of that sort
