My family got an offset umbrella for free because the fabric had a hole in the middle so it was broke. We couldn’t pass up that deal so we got it and now we just need to buy a new replacement! Thanks to this video I’ll know how to set it up! 💖

Thank you so much! I couldn't figure out how to replace my cover because the pull cord was running through it. All the other videos I saw only had covers with velcro or zipper closures that made replacement a breeze. This one took both of us some fiddling around but we got it together. Wonderful tutorial!!!!

This was a huge help and along with finding a supplier for the replacement cover, has saved the whole frame from landfill. However the unit at the base of the cord is different for our one, it did not just pop out, we had to unscrew the part to get to the base of the cord. Bit more fiddly but got there in the end.

Very helpful thank you! Have ordered through the link you suggested. Now we have another problem. The small iron ring that holds up the arms is broken. We have a couple of ideas of how to fix it but if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Thanks for your video. Finally received our red canopy installed it this afternoon. I think it would have been easier to untie the string from the bottom of the canopy before releasing the two top notches at the two. It took longer to remove than putting it all back together. Thanksfor the video.

Helpful video since this is exactly my parasol that needs a replacement canopy... However, it would have been much better if you could have had an assistant holding the camera for you (horizontally) so that we could have viewed a nice stable full screen video of the procedure.

HELP! How do you get the cord back into the little tiny hole? I’ve tried everything and I cannot get it to go through. It bends before it ever goes through the hole. I could use some suggestions.

I think you are referring to the rope being frayed. I would suggest giving yourself the best chance by wrapping the end in sellotape to a point. Let me know if it works. Please do like the video and subscribe as really helps me.

Thanks for your video excellent explanation.. you mentioned yours is a 6 spoke Sun umbrella but mine is a 7 spoke 5mtr in diameter and I can't get a replacement anywhere can you help ...would be grateful for any info..

Can you check, do you definitely have 7 individual spoke arms? Only as usually uniform 6 or 8arm?

@@irenelazenby5634 At a large 5m diameter it is hard to find a replacement. Do check it is 5m. The attached shows images of how to measure and does provide 8 spoke parasol covers upto 3m. I have measured the parasol many times and properly this time the diameter is 2.54 mtr with 8 arms the nearest I can get is 2mtr 70 on eBay should I chance it...

@@irenelazenby5634 if you click on my last link, I would definitely get the 2.7m 8arm. If 2.5m it will be too small and worse case rip the fabric if DO manage to fit. Let me know how get on.

Hey so quick question. With my patio umbrella, the string was torn off from the base end, not the umbrella cover end. The umbrella cover actually fell off with the string (might have been due to the weight and wind outside. What do i do? Is it possible to fix this patio umbrella? I just paid 400 dollars for mine and I literally just got it a week ago...

Difficult. Without seeing, then difficult to say BUT if you can tie a length of strong string to the end broken end then could work. Otherwise, need to rewire a new wire which, if anything like mine, would be difficult at the handle end. Hope works out.

Excellent vid... our parasol is under a Yew tree and get's filthy from the berries and bird crap. I'll wash it before putting it away and order a new cover to be fitted at my leisure :-)

I am not sure if easily can. Best bet, tie a weight to the end on the string to drop down the shaft so can remove, and then tie off. Hope works. Please subscribe as really helps

It is the one from John Lewis....but measure your spread and individual spines to ensure order correct cover.

Go to the link on comments and can amend colour, size and number of arms. You can count the arms but look up your throw distance or measure.

I cannot untie the knot! Any tips?

It depends which knot. If the one that sits inside the plastic cap then few ideas. 1) get a blunt knitting needle or chop stick, try to stick it into where the knot ties round. 2) wet it, then try to manipulate 3) worse case, chop it off as close to knot as possible. I tried a safety pin (knitting needle or chop stick way too big). Little luck with safety pin. Tired soapy water - no luck. Trying NOT to resort to cutting... will hold out a bit longer :(

This was good helpful information for taking the canopy off and I appreciate it, but you didn't show how you took the knot apart, leaving me to think it wasn't easy and you did not show the step by step of you putting it back on. Leaving me to believe it takes two people to put the canopy back onto the poles.
