My truck doesn’t have hinges, and when I stick my finger in the square holes there’s no threads or anywhere for a bolt to tighten into how can I fix that?

Probably should have mentioned replacing the bushings as well.

Any idea what the bracket that sits inside the body that these hinge brackets screw into is called or part number?

Yeah I was surprised you didn't include replacing the plastic bushings that insulate the metal on metal wear. Not to mention without them in place the tailgate likely won't align well with the latch posts. That will create more wear on the posts from the latch hitting the posts out of alignment and tearing them up eventually. If your not going to install the plastic insert insulators, then you likely will need to readjust the hinges up some for them to strike the posts straight on. Just saying.
