I tried putting it back in, but it remains sunken in from the top, if I then push the bottom part down it's then firmly place in the keyholder and stuck. Nothing is broken. What's a good way to fix this?

had the same problem, key Is slightly angled and not right. You just have to give it a small push from the bottom, that should fix it. Wiggle it a bit and it should pop in to place.
