Please edit your video for those who don't know the difference between 75W90 GL-3, GL-4 and GL-5 gear oil. The FJ Cruiser has different transfer case models. Their full-time transfer case uses 75W90 GL-5 but their Part-time transfer case uses GL-3 or GL-4. For those who are looking for GL-3, it's discontinued, use GL-4 instead, it's perfectly safe. For those of you that want to know what the difference is. 75W90 GL-5 gear oil is for any gear box (differential, transfer case, or manual transmission) that does NOT contain bronze. GL-5 contains chemicals that will slowly attack Bronze, turning it black and cause the part to wear out a lot sooner. GL-3 & 4 gear oil contains chemicals and additives that will not harm Bronze components. If you're not sure what your vehicle requires, look inside your owners manual. Don't ask the kid behind the parts counter, they won't know. Your Toyota Dealership Parts Dept. will.

Great video,is there difference between gl-3 and gl-4 because the fj manual calls for gl -4

It actually calls for GL 3 for an automatic. You can’t get GL 3 so GL 4 is the best alternative. Once again this guy used the wrong fluid as he did in the differential video.

I am a little bit surprised with reusing old plug sealing. Each manual says always replace with new one. What is overall experience and probability of failure?

@@luboskrapka897inspect and replace as needed. Over tightening the plugs is what ruins the washers. I’ve used then twice now without needing new ones.
