For anyone curious, that gasket is for 2008 and before models. 2009 and onwards look different.

Does the rtv need to sit before turning on the engine? Or does it not matter due to the small amount used?

Should I not start it before the oil change? I like to get the oil warm when changing it so it flows better.

My mechanic told me my valve cover gasket needs replacing. I’m looking to do it myself. I purchased the fel-pro kit which comes with some many more seals… (VCT Solenoid Seal, Oil Control Valve O-Ring, Camshaft Oil Feed Tube O-Ring Included; Includes Spark Plug Tube Seals; Valve Cover Grommets Included; PermaDry Molded Rubber Gasket Included)😮. Do you think I need to replace anything other that was replaced in this video? Thanks!!

do we have to drain the motor oil first before remove valve cover?

So I did a job like this and I have no experience at all with cars but I did not put the coil engine back in the right order that they came out in. After I started the car the electronic throttle body control light came on and I cannot figure out how to get it off. Do you think me not putting the coil rods and the exact same way how's this? If so how do I fix it?

Thanks for this. Well shot and narrated. Great speaking voice. I’ll be replacing cover & gasket in my daughters exact same vehicle here next weekend. Only comments are perhaps a bit nit picky: Instead of saying “crack” regarding putting RTV on, maybe say “seam”. Also, “especially” does not have an “X” in it : )

How did you go replacing it because. I want to do the same as it is leaking only the smallest from at back dripping onto the exhaust.
