On the rears it is better to leave the brake carrier attached and instead undo the caliper slider bolts like you did on the front. Also a brake caliper piston expansion tool is advisable for most people who are replacing worn pads with new and have to push the pistons back as far as they will go. Really helps reassembly. Good video ! I had read that unless you use a scan tool for brake bleeding to energize the ABS system, you will bleed everything except the old fluid still in the ABS unit. I’m soon to do my car so I’ll find out.😊

To stop brake squeal you must grease the rear of the pads on the contact area’s to the calliper and the piston Guaranteed No squeal even with old pads

How can you "guarantee" no squeal when the squeal is often the result of glaze on the pads? Esp on these Jags.

Try Porterfield brake pads. No squealing.

I used EBC red stuff which is ceramic brake pads. No more squealing and no brake dust too.

Thank you! The new brake pads still squeaked, so I installed ceramic brake pads called EBC red stuff and no more noise or dust!

I watched the video and focusing on the removal of the caliper pin (around 3 minutes into the video) and it appears that you are removing the pins turning them clockwise which looks opposite. I would think to loosen them it would be counter clockwise. Is that because we are seeing a mirror image? Pease clarify.

Do you leave the ignition on after it is in maint mode or will it stay in maint mode with ignition off and until you shut maint back off. I assume the latter since you do have to turn it off manually but every-time i assume,,,,,,,

Ignition can turn off once in maintenance mode.

I noticed you used anti squeal on the pads it’s NO GOOD it drys and still allows vibration to create noise this is simply music from a speaker grease only in the same spots will fix your problems

In the mode for the rears does it allow you to push the cylinder back even though its got an electronic motor on it

Great question. It does allow you to compress it when in park brake maintenance mode.

The new Stop-Tech brake pads just started squeaking. Not as bad as R1 concepts pads. I am guessing the R1 rotors are causing it. I will be switching to ceramic pads to see if the noise will go away.

Leave brake fluid cap open to let off some pressure when you push the pistons open.

Rear rotors are slightly smaller. Performance brake package.

U did not have to pull the old break fluid out first Instead top off the reservoir and then Pressure rise to system bleeding the air line now u know 👍

@@themicrobladingguyronniema2662 Search for ebc red stuff ceramic brake pads for v8 R model if you have performance brakes or v6 model if you have non performance brakes. The brakes are bigger in the back with the performance brake package. Ceramic pads can be installed on stock rotors or any type of rotor.

Depends. You can have a V6S without performance brake calipers or with them (same as V8 R)

The base has smaller front and rear rotors with black calipers. The V6 S has bigger front rotors (also black calipers). The performance brake package adds bigger front/rear rotors (red calipers). The V8 model has the same as performance package. The SVR has yellow calipers and carbon ceramic brakes. My V6 S model has the performance brake package with bigger front/rear rotors and red calipers.

Its essentially the same procedure, the base models have a single piston caliper and smaller rotors. the big downside i noticed is the brake line runs very close to the top 9mm hex pin so getting it out is tricky, the 3/8 attachment wouldn't clear the hose. I ended up removing the whole bracket via the 15mm bolts rather than take off the brake hose. If you buy a 9mm, make sure to get a very thin long body one so it will clear the brake hose.
