odds are you didn't forget the pattern samsung has a glitch where 2/3 times the password refuses to work after changing/setting it I know this cuz it has happened to me twice before and I've seen others struggle with this issue

Great, simple instructions. I tried a previous video for the same factory reset-pwr & volume down!? Of course the phone kept shutting off and on lol i am curious-Do you Prefer a hard reset to wipe phone if gifting to another person? I would imagine Yes..But Why not ask.. Much appreciated. this phone is now so old I forgot how to wipe cache, reset etc.

Is there a way to do this remotely via the charger cable and a computer? I've installed a program that has caused the display to become unreadable and I can't read anything to be able to reset the phone...
