I can totally feel your cousin, when she argued about the 'laundry' chat. She wants to be the one he reaches out for help, etc. She must have felt that, for something as basic and effortless as reminding him about the laundry....instead of reaching out to his wife, who he is sharing a home with, he is actually having to ask you for that!! IPad I might sound little Harsh but this is exactly how affairs start and from your letter I could see this is actually making your happy and you want us to validate your feelings and say that the cousin is wrong but let's be honest here it's you and if you have self respect leave them alone.

Also, this may come across as weird, but isn't discussing laundry kinda intimate? It's something that close family members or roommates remind each other of. Basically people who live together and stuff. Of course unless you're someone who lives alone. If you already live with your spouse under the same roof and still feel like you have to share your laundry details with an outsider... then one of you has a problem.

Why can't ipad's cousin's husband keep an alarm and remind himself to collect his shirts??, he's an adult; he's sharing things with his SIL which are supposed to be shared with the wife... When iPad's letter started I was on her side and when the laundry part came up I exactly understood why was the wife being mad, you talk about these mundane things with your partners or people who are closest to you coz only they can care for such day to day things about you. Phones are just a basic necessity, so no .... Super expensive phones aren't important for me personally. As a student my basic requirements are a good camera quality for taking pictures of my notes, good battery backup for online classes, and enough storage for my all study related data, and a good apps supporting system..... Whichever fone has these features, i am good to go with it. Doesnt hv to be an iPhone or whatever.

First letter reminds me of todays incident with my younger sister. So yesterday I went out and asked my friend to click my pic (It's been more than an year since I have taken my pic , It was a rough time and yesterday I felt like taking picture, I look so different than what I used to look before, I have short hair, lost weight and who said you can click pics only when you are happy, sometimes it's nice to have memories). A phone costing 30k would do more than 90% of what an expensive phone, worth 1L, can do. Then again, a 17-18k phone can again do more than 90% of a phone's job worth 30k. Lastly, even the most expensive phone in the market will have minor annoyances, that's just the fact. Spending out of one's financial way to buy a phone will only lead to disappointment, especially if it is the person's own hard earned money. I would like to know the perspective of an average user, who is consciously not being tagged as being a tech enthusiast..

Expensive phones are fine as long as you use for important things, or clicking good pictures but it shouldn't be something you should be on it all the time.

What I feel about these expensive gadgets? Honestly it depends on the quality of the product rather than the price. If someone is genuinely buying an iphone because they find the features useful and the quality superior as compared to other phones then it does make sense. However if someone just wants to buy an expensive gadget for show-off or status symbol then that I personally find is wrong.

I mostly leave the room when my own siblings and parents try to attack me with my past mistakes and things that I'm not proud of! It’s so funny, yesternight, I was just an inch away from buying new IPhone.. but it was not meant to happen.. and for your question over these super expensive phones (ahem ahem!! iPhone only 🤓), it totally depends upon the needs of the person.. I am buying new phone after 6 years and I don’t intend to buy for another 6-7 years (if they don’t restrict me on OS update), and for working professionals things like email apps like outlook, gmail, yahoo etc, video calling apps zoom, ms teams etc, messaging apps like teams, whatsapp etc are just basic necessities and apart from strong internet connection, fast data processing phone on good sized RAM with more than sufficient storage are required for their smooth functioning.. and I never was a big fan of buying new gadgets just because they are in fashion for being high status symbols!! So particularly, whether to buy super expensive phone, on whatever basis is personal choice.. and yes, Apple is being somewhat unreasonable in keeping prices too high and people are also encouraging them through continuously buying the super expensive iPhones.. I am also one of them but once in 6 years only 😅.. if I won’t be able to get iPhone in India, then I would definitely look for other option which might save me money as well (given its durable long term).. 😇

See talking of actual iPhones There was one day us , sapiens , came up with this telephone in 1876. Indeed it revolutionized and changed the world for all future generations. Communiciations became faster , now that i didn't have to go far on my horse to get an information regarding trade , technology , research etc. It made us effecient in terms of energy and time. There came cameras , and other devices existed like compasses , rulers. There existed paper money transactions earlier. Carrying all this stuff was a hard time. So , we decided to digitalize it and put it one thing called a MOBILE/ phone. I think we have forgotten completely THESE REASONS I GAVE above *FOR* which these phones were built. Today especially with iPhones this is the case , majority people buying iPhones have in their minds , more or less , this social pressure's impact that they'd look cooler , richer , better ...blah blah (10 other superficial show off factors) blah blah.... Yet let me tell you the REAL thing :- there is one system called the consumerism - which all these people are prey of. Consumerism is when you have like a salary of 30k but you are roaming with a 1 lac iPhone. REAL rich people ( even by their minds) are those who EARN and RE-INVEST. they dont buy Liabilities , they buy assets. I wont show off but see ;- I am a teen -and bois and girlz of my age are going crazy on instagram and for new phones and bikes and their hairstyles and their dresses (which they buy from their papa's money). Now I also don't earn but whatever i am given (money) I invest in my books or because I am a nature photographer I buy some small gear from it. CLEARLY YOu can buy these (coz they are made to be bought cmon) but dont treat them as your identity please. In 2 3 years you will sell your hyped iPhone and buy a new one , so to say are you selling and buying ur identities ? please dont do that. My guru - Alakh pandey is a living example. His company physicswallah is a unicorn worth about 8000CRORE. He still doesn't own any high fi clothes or cars. HE REMAINS DOWN TO EARTH AND SIMPLE even when HE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BUY A WHOLE SHOWROOM OF BMW
