The Yankee concept is by far the most widely used deep shot play in the NFL and college football. As you run the ball well, teams will jump into a 1-high safety look and this play can then be used to counter that. As such, this is best used from under center and with play action.
There are a ton of different ways in which you can run this, but as long as you have the (1) clear out, the (2) deep over & (3) check down, you have a solid play. Protection wise, this could be done from a full slide, PA off a gap scheme, or a big on big chip protection.
