As part of your instruction video you should be showing the reading on the old and new thermostat in the test condition. Otherwise pretty good instructions.

I bought a samsung fridge a few years ago and after a power surge in our street which blacked out our area, the fridge cooling wouldn't function properly (freezer fine). Hovered around 12 degrees C (although the display had it fluctuating!). Replaced the sensor and for a short period it worked (1 week) and then back to 12 degrees! Decided to get rid of the fridge, turned it off and ran a second fridge beside it for a week. The night before I was going to get rid of it I turned it on for one last try. The next morning it worked perfectly and has continued to do so ever since! I think that when I approached it with the screw driver to take the doors off so as to get it out of the house, it decided that it was either behave itself or it was the scrap heap and so opted for our company. True!

Thanks for posting that. I just ordered sensors for my Samsung because the fridge side had iced up and wasn't cooling. I'm hoping this will clear the error message and get the defroster working again.

How to test , and how did you find out it’s sensor fault? What readings (am assume resistance) should be? To replace parts- it’s not hard job, to diagnose faulty part is more complicated 🤦‍♂️

It's interesting to see this video. I have a RS265TDRS which keeps icing up in its refrigerator evaporator coil, eventually blocking the fan, and causing the fridge to be too warm (~48F when set to ~34F). From the factory, its defrost sensor is on the inlet side (upper-right of the coil, short white-color wires to the NTC thermistor). I just moved it to the left side (requiring extending the cable to reach), to exactly where it is shown in this video, based on a tip on the RS267 fast track sheet, suggesting to put it on the outlet if freeze-up is happening. I also replaced the foam gasket that goes around the evaporator with a more substantial rubber gasket. Hopefully my modification will help. However, I do worry a bit about the zip ties rubbing through the wire. From factory, there is a bit of plastic tube to help against abrasion, but it isn't so long... In this video, the two gas lines were zip-tied together. I wonder if that'll cause any issues or inefficiencies because heat will be able to conduct from the outlet tube to the inlet tube, or cause the two tubes to rub against each other... not sure...

I have this cooling issue with my Samsung RS2534WW, freezer side is fine, fridge side gave me an error code of 7, (Refrigerator Defrost Error). My fridge is 10 years old. Should I replace both the defrost and fridge sensor since I am going inside the unit, there is also a defrost thermal fuse In the same area. Do you carry all three components?

I'd replaced the main control board on my Samsung side by side fridge 3 months ago and it has been working like a champ. However, since I increased the cooler temp by 2 degrees to 40 F the other days, the next day I noticed that the freezer temp 0 F on the led display stared flashing suddenly. So I powered the fridge off at the circuit breaker and waited 2 hours before powering it back on. After the fridge was back on for a few hours, the temp on the led display was all over the place and the compressor doesn't seem to stop at all. Led display shows cooler temp at 34 F and it shows freezer at 48 F. Please advise what should I do or check at this point. Thanks a lot !

Hello, I replaced my refrigirator side defrost sensor as the frost had built up so much stopping the fan from spinning. I had a fault code for the R. Defrost Sensor and a fault code for the Fan. Since replacing a few days ago, everything has seemed to be running fine but the fault code for the R. Defrost Sensor remains which doesn't fill me with confidence. Is it okay to ignore this? Thanks
