I always notice beginners struggling with this posture. I thought of making a video with Preparatory poses which helps prepare not only body but also mind to get into the posture. Very often with inverted poses (since the body is upside down) it's only the fear which is an obstacle.
Here are few benefits of Sarvangasana:
1. Mother of all yogasanas
2. Balances thyroid and parathyroid glands
3. Helps to get relief in common cold, bronchitis, asthma, palpitations and severe headache
4. Activates parasympathetic nervous system which helps in relieving hypertension, irritation, short temper, nervous breakdown and insomnia, Improves digestion
5. Highly recommended asana for urinary disorders, menstrual troubles, piles and hernia.
6. As the name suggests, sarva - anga - asana. Which clearly means this pose works on overall human system.
Increases hair growth
7.Last but not the least it's an anti-aging posture :))
Contraindications:
1. High BP
2. Menstrations
3. Pregnancy
4. Severe back and neck conditions

Indeed...I jumped the same way though when I was in graduation it was easy but after pregnancy it takes such a long time to achieve this

Just went through your few videos with preparatory poses and even subscribed to your channel. Will try one by one slowly. U are a good instructor, please continue doing all yoga poses videos specially for beginners and intermediates with preparatory poses and mentioning the contradictions. Don't stop doing videos. Also please share videos on ayurveda body types and their diets to be followed. Appreciate your support. Lots of love from Mumbai 😊

Nice video, thanks. I started recently with this asana and I hold this pose for 5min. The problem is that my neck hurts after I am done with the pose. Is it because i am new to this pose or is it the duration. Can I continue to do the pose even though my neck is slightly hurting. Please advise thanks

Mam, to get the benefit of saravangasanam(1-10 minutes, it has to be followed by machasanam 1/10th of the time spent on other one

Yes, difficult movements are usually done with the exhale to make it more accessible 🌟
