This is the only real argument, honestly if you know what your equipment does you don't need "GOAT" modes. If your handy enough front and rear lockers aren't an absolute necessity, they are nice to have though.

Ford is laughing all the way to the bank on these Sasquatch models. What does a 35 give you that a legit 33 doesn’t? Save a ton of $$$ and buy a Black Diamond which comes with 4.46 gears and a rear locker. You can add a front locker IF you need one, run a good 33 on a 17x9. For ‘22 the Sasquatch adds over $7K to a base. Wheels and tires are ~$3K. A good locker will run you $1,500 installed. Forget the Sasquatch

Something most people miss that is a huge advantage to the factory Sasquatch package is the 4.7 gears. People upgrading and throwing on 35s usually aren’t thinking about regearing.

True but not if you get the manual trans. Manual has 4.46 diff gears, which are very close to Sas 4.7. Under 200 rpm difference between the two. Also half the people buying Sas probably never leave the pavement, so the functionality is all wasted on them aside from the mild lift and larger tires.

If you ever went on the bronco forums you would know that it's much cheaper to just get the factory sasquatch package then trying to buy all the items and put them on the base model. The sasquatch package is like half a dozen things, it's more then just a lift and 35" tires.

Dude, we know it's way more complicated than that. We were making a video for the average Bronco consumer who just wants their Bronco to look like a sasquatch. I thought we made that clear. If we talked about every single variable and situation on our video it would be an hour long and boring. That's not what KZfaq is for. That's what forums are for. Trust me we are in all of the forums.

I love the wheels and offset. The most economical setup IMO is the Black Diamond with the 2inch level/spacer lift. You would get 90% of the Sasquatch capability since it is standard with rear locker, rock sliders and skid plates, much more customizable and build it for under 50K with a manual.

I’ve seen the Sasquatch Package & regular Bronco side-by-side (demo models) at my local dealer. I’m definitely going non-Sasquatch package, as I prefer the standard depth fenders & ability to choose my own aftermarket wheel & tire combo. You’re going to see a couple folks claiming that aftermarket parts void the factory warranty & that’s completely false & idiotic. I’ve owned lifted Jeeps & Fords for over 20 years. The warranty is not void (on whole, as some falsely claim); you’ll simply be responsible for any non-OEM part that fails. Ignore the people talking out of their ______ & buy what you prefer. Great video BTW! 👍🏻🇺🇸

I have a non-SASQ Badlands as well, as the difference was about $4000 for my configuration, which was a waste of money. (certainly the Sasquatch package is an excellent value for most other trims, but the Badlands already comes with so much) However, I did just get a set of pull-offs, so your video has been helpful for me to work through the steps to make a Badlands Sasquatch on the cheap. I've ordered the taillight extender, the camera issue isn't much of an issue, so not worried about that. I did order the fenders and am looking at a number of leveling kits to achieve parity with the real sasquatch, but don't want to over do it and upset the suspension angles and such. I had read the difference was about .43" so I guess that's about 10mm. Anyway, great video, it seems you guys covered everything with the modifications. Thanks for the leveling kit links too.

@@benjaminpeace2967 I ended up doing a Zone Off Road 2" level kit, so 2" up front and 1" out back, pretty easy to do, that easier gave me a higher than SASQ lift. The Badlands only starts out .43" lower than the SASQ.

The Sasquatch package is a super value, because to do in the aftermarket everything that the Sasquatch package does would cost about 50% more than the Sasquatch package itself costs. When I ordered my Bronco, I quickly realized this after doing a little math -- you just can't match the price of the Sasquatch package in the aftermarket, especially when you factor in the cost of the F&R lockers and the shorter final-drive differential gears.

Excellent video and topic coverage. I've been digging in to details to decide Badlands with or without SAS, and what it would take down the road to "mimic" the SAS setup if not ordered with it from factory. Given the cost delta (~$2500) for Badlands SAS option, I've decided that is the way to go rather than chasing all the little issues (and after-market cost) trying to do it later.

Sasquatch or bust if you plan to offroad IMO. Between the lockers, 4.70 gears, premium beadlock wheels and all the other minor changes it's an easy choice for offroaders. It's important to realize that the non-sasquatch/non-badlands models without front lockers have aluminum front diff case with smaller ring gear versus cast iron case with larger ring gear.
@Databyter
@Databyter 2 жыл бұрын
You can get 4.7 gearing with the Badlands if you have the Manual, and also Badlands has a front locker included even without the Sasquatch package. Also it is true that lower trim levels have a different differential, but NOT the Badlands or Wildtrak which have the DANA 210. So basically, with the exception of 35's which are useful offroad, the Badlands has everything else of value out the door with 32's or 33's, and you can always add your own version of 35's or 37's for that matter, down the road. Again, please correct me if I am wrong. And yea, Sasquatching a less offroad centric trim level is a great way to get the tuffer stuff with the trim you really want.. Databyter
@JsGarage
@JsGarage 2 жыл бұрын
@@Databyter Yup that's what I meant by non-sasquatch/non-badlands missing lockers and heavier diff. Badlands is the most capable focused trim as it includes lockers and the only trim to have the sway bar disconnect. The wildtrak comes standard with sasquatch package but no sway bar disconnect. Sas pkg is a great way to make any trim very capable. For me personally, I would get sas pkg even on the badlands. The wheels are forged and beadlock ready. Sas suspension comes preconfigured for the added unsprung weight and to clear the 35s. If you want different 35s, the stock 35s should be easy to sell and recoup most of the money toward the ones you want. When equipped with auto transmission the sas pkg only adds about $2500 and gives you five forged beadlock ready wheels and five 35" tires. The sas wheels and tires are definitely worth more than $2500 so even if you don't want them they are worth more to have if you don't mind selling. If I had to, the badlands is the only trim I would be interested in without the sas trim because of the standard features we discussed. Of course all this is only relative to those who want to get some kind of serious about off-roading the bronco.

You are wrong, all 2.7s are twin turbo. The engine problem was caused by a very limited number of bad valves provided by a supplier. Ten of thousands of 2.7s have gone into Broncos. Less than 50 dropped a valve (they break at the retainer groove) and Ford replaced the entire engines under warranty.

Thanks for the video, very informative. I was on the fence about getting the Sasquatch option on the base model Bronco until I found out about the diff locker situation. Having front and rear lockers from the factory along with everything else seems like it would be the more cost efficient choice for someone that will actually need/use lockers versus building a base model aftermarket to have the same capability.

One of the most important components in a sasquatch package is the axles are geared. Theirs videos already of people putting 35 on their non sas bronco and complaining about power. Sasquatch is geared for the 35's non sas is not.

Already talked about this in the comments on multiple posts. You're right it's a big deal. Most people that bought a non-squatch just bought the Brinco to drive around town and the gear ratios won't ever matter to them. The only people that will be changing gear ratios have already thought about that probably and got the Sasquatch package.

Hey John, the overall height difference between a Sasquatch and a non-squatch is nowhere near 4". Between the difference in tire height with 35's on the Sasquatch and a 10 mm or around 3/8 inch lift we're in the ballpark. I know it doesn't sound like much but that's all the difference really is.

@BackroadDriver
@BackroadDriver 3 жыл бұрын
You're right, gear ratios matter. Not that much though for the typical Bronco owner. We have changed gearing in several vehicles now, unless you change the ratio quite a bit the difference is usually unpersivable to the typical owner. If you're wanting to build the baddest off-road rig, you're going to want to pay attention to that. Serious off-road rigs will probably have the gears swapped out to a 4.x ratio. That itself will cost a couple grand so you could save some money possibly!??

One big detail your forgetting to tell people is the axles.. the bronco runs 2 axles m210 and m220 axles. The people who are buying none squatch packages who are putting 35+ tires don’t realize they have the m210 axles which are significantly weaker. M220 come on all manual transmissions, Sasquatch and top tier models that run 33’s or bigger. Those come in 4:46 or 4:70 gear ratio. Pay attention to your axle folks

Question, why put a 35” tire in the back, the camera issue, I’m confused as to how the Bronco was bought, did it come with 5 non-Sasquatch tires whatever they are below the 35’s? If you swapped the tires out you’d have them right, put the small one on the back!
@BackroadDriver
@BackroadDriver 3 жыл бұрын
Good question. If you have a flat then you spare is kind of useless. Your overall tore diameter needs to be very close to the same on all 4 wheels. If they are not they will trigger your wheel speed sensors and ABS sensors. And there is the authenticity viewpoint. If you get out wheeling and have a flat you want to be able to replace with a tore that has the same capability as the other 3 to get you out of the woods. Lastly, if you think 35’s look better on your Bronco the. Having the spare match would matter. If you sell your takeoff set, whomever buys them would want all 5.

Good info as I’m on the fence about authentic Sasquatch vs. DIY look with 35’s. It seems the only concern is the spitting of rocks onto the paint, I feel like if that is a thing you’d have to worry about it even when not off roading. Obviously stones and gravel are everywhere out there on streets and roads ect. Obviously not recommended as you said but on my 01 Mustang I had 18 inch 275 tires, stock are like 17 inch 245, the spare in trunk was like a wheel barrel tire haha it saved me more than once when blowing a tire but I would drive slow on it and it def felt weird.
