Today, let's talk about toxic friends. I made a podcast about this topic and it was very well received so I wanted to create a visual for it. These are some signs to tell if you have toxic friends. Take it with a grain of salt, but if you are here watching this video, and you were looking for it. Then maybe you came to the right place, cause you might have toxic friends. I hope you enjoy!

Saying no to a toxic friend is hard sometimes your mind sees it before your heart realises it. Getting rid of my toxic friends was the best decision i ever made, no matter how many times they made me laugh and smile there were always more bad than good

they always made me smile in first place, then they started to forget me even more i didnt talk to them for like 2 weeks because i wanted to see if they would say somethin (and its a lot compared to our relation because we always talked every single day) they didn’t even notice i then couldn’t hold myself then told them ‘hi’ all they told me was ‘oh hi long time no see’ more like long time since you didn’t notice me, u bish

My best friend is Mikayla. We've been friends since we were kids, and without her I honestly don't even know if I could live. She's literally my other half. Where I lack, she makes up for that. I could tell her anything and she'd still love me the same. I honestly could never do enough to deserve her. She's one of the very few people I could say I love and genuinely mean it. I'm not good at trusting people or getting attached, but she managed to get past my stupid barriers and I'm so glad she did.

Wow I really loved the montage at the beginning of this video, so beautiful ah 💛 You have such incredible friends, I so wish I had friends like those. Growing up shy and introverted with bad anxiety/social anxiety, I was never able to make good friends and now I've finished school, I've finished with no friends and idk how to make them because I didn't develop many social skills as a kid. It's so hard and the only place I found to make friends is the internet but that's so different to being able to have someone to chill with and feel comfortable around

You’ll eventually find someone. Don’t give up : ) I know how hard it is to find friends when you are lonely, but it’s not impossible. I really hope you can find someone near the place you live or the place where you work/study. Social anxiety is harsh, but once you have support and help, you can beat it. We always chat and every single day she always ask me “How was your day?” Which may sound simple but it always makes me happy that someone actually wants to hear about what I’ve done during a day, it may be a bad or good day she’s always there for me 24/7... Her name is daphne. She is the most positive person I know. She is also mentally so strong. 3 years ago she developed Dysautonomia. from athlete to being wheelchair bound, from foodie to have her favourite foods case her pain and weakness. She has stayed positive and loving. She is the kindest person I know and I love her for it.

If you further think about 6:24 to 7:15 of what Joey said, then i think this will answer your question - If this toxic friend doesn't respect you, then try to gain the courage to separate yourself from them, on the bases that you are taking care of yourself. Hope this helps :)

It is hard because I had to cut a toxic person out of my life. You have to look at it this way... Would you want to have friends around that are fake or no friends at all and start over? Very difficult

Its worth the sacrifice. Put it this way, would you want to be with someone who constantly makes you angry or sad or even feels like a burden in your life, or would you rather stay at home every Friday and enjoy a wonderful book or your favourite series or even go out for a long relaxing walk by the beach?

I would rather start over and not have fake friends. Fake friends are not true friends. Once you start over and realize that there are people out there who would want to be your friend it's a bit easier. Maybe some people don't want to be your friend, because of your toxic friends that you hang out with...

I live for your videos. Like from a horrible day at school I get to watch a video from you and I feel like all negative feelings have just vanished and wow this is magic if it’s not then idk what is. My classmates are toxic. Most of them and I decided to not surround myself with them. I only have one friend and the others are like friends only when they sit with my friend and it sucks I can’t even call them friends but I’m not desperate. I don’t care I enjoy being with myself rather than being with fake friends. But I do have real friends and they are sadly over the Internet. I have like a lot of people tbh but the main ones are like 4 and my best friend which makes them 5 and I love them so much. And now I’m just gonna text them that I love them and appreciate them so much. If you have a real friend remind them they’re important you want them happy and you love them

Love this. So much truth in it. I met my best friend Sam this past year and I didn't know a true friend until then and my life has been changed for the better. It's such an amazing feeling when you finally find that kind of love. Everyone deserves to have that.

I think its important for people to know if their friendships are toxic. Sometimes you don't have anything else to go off of, but when you the relationship is toxic its somewhat easier to leave and separate yourself because you know its harmful. My best friend McKenna is always there for me and supports me in everything. She's a beautiful goofball that I love so much! This was a great video, and really made me think. There was a toxic friend in my group of really close friends, and, not surprisingly, it didn't really work out. I still talk to her some, but we don't hang out anymore. It is true. Having toxic friends can hurt, but I have amazing people all around me that I love.

my best friend max has been there for me through everything since high school. he’s always supportive but also not afraid to tell me what i need to work on. he’s super funny and we can be ourselves around each other. i can talk to him about anything and i know he’s never gonna turn around and leave me alone. plus we have a ton of inside jokes and hanging out with him is always fun. he’ll probably never see this because idk if he watches youtube a lot but thanks for being my best friend max. youre da bomb #chowmein

I love that my friends work so hard and are funny in their own regard and genuinely care about things go in in my life as I do with theirs. I have met people that I have to retell things to, but because they forgot but because they don't really care. To meet someone that has interest the sqme interest you have is really great.

Little by little, with each video, you’ve helped to keep me alive. Going through my journey of depression and suicidal thoughts, you’ve always been that little bit of encouragement I always look forward to. I don’t really know what to do to help myself when nobody else can help me, but the one thing that helps 100% of the time is watching your videos. i used to have many friends coming through middle and high school but it all came down to one friend her name is Anisa she teaches me to by myself and stay true to what i believe in she’s never failed to encourage me when i struggled through my problems and i am truly blessed to have her in my life i met her in freshman year and we both are going off to senior year together and i’m so thankful for the laughs she gives me

Joey - hope you’re reading this & hope you had a good day. But as far as your video content, I like what ever you want and what ever you need to film. What I mean by that is I like watching you grow and learn and I like videos that help you do that. If that means filming a video about your grocery list, do so. But if that means spending days on one video that your extremely passionate about, do so. I’ll watch it. Not because you tell me to, but because I care and I think your true supporters will feel the same way. Thank you for taking the time to help us.

I've had a team of three crazy ladies on my count for over a decade now. Fun fact! After high school, we got different careers different friend circles but we meet once in a month or two. And that's my battery recharge, we just have fun and enjoy. And just seeing these three ladies makes my complete month. I constantly remember our times together and laugh. There's never been a rough time together. You know why? Because it fades away the moment we see each other. I know this might seem cheesy but their family now. And @joey you are right parents know who's a good friend for you. And my ladies are more awaited by my mom than me in my house. But obvious no toxic friends. I thought this video was going to be a negative one but thank-you you reminded me of those specials in my life. 😃

I'm happy to say that my friends are amazing! I have very few true friendships but I value them so much, I love and care for them and they care for me and that's amazing. I remember one time one of my best girlfriends came up to me and said "Look I know that this is going to hurt you but this girl (with whom she had been friends for ages) told this and this about you, that I should stay away from you and all sort of things. I just want you to know that I don't believe any of this, I know you and I'd trust whit anything. I am with you no matter what everybody else has to say" and to this day I can't believe I got so lucky. yup, parents see your friends toxicity before you do! My toxic friend at the time never wanted to come over because my mom saw through her facade ,and my breaking point with her was when she cross the line and started talking about my mom!

This video comes at the perfect time, as your videos tend to do. I just cut off all of my friendships save 2 who I actually enjoy hanging out with, and know that they both care. I'm an Empath, and I was so used to helping others that I let myself be used for venting about their issues, and then never noticing when I was upset, even when I tried to make it obvious. I recently went on an outing with my older cousins, and by the end of that night, I had an epiphany. I hadn't laughed as much as I had that night, and I hadn't felt as safe, protected and warm inside as I had. That's what I want to feel with my friends. I'm done being a doormat, and while I love being an Empath, I've also realized that it's not my job to help everyone. I need to help those who also help me. It needs to be reciprocated, you know? Anyway, after I graduate in 3 days, it's goodbye to all that toxicity and negativity, and hello to being proud of who I am and making non-toxic friends. College, here I come!

after seeing the first 3 minutes, I was just sitting in front of my laptop and smile. The clips from the beach where so touching, I wish me and my two best friends could meet more often, but school and work is hard. But even if we havn´t seen each other in like a month we can still talk to each other like we´ve seen each other every day :) a really great video, I had to learn to let toxic friends go and I´m still learning it but I´m learning from my mistakes. lovely greetings from Austria :)
