I find it very difficult to get the copper out of those armatures. Since I find a lot of vacuum cleaners and other small appliances with those armatures I just sell them by the pound. Last time I had about 60 pounds.

Yeah they take a lot of work. I’m working on a new method but I think ultimately they’re better to sell as is.

Dedicating a cheap old electric soldiering iron for breaking down high plastic content items saves a lot of time and hammering. In many instances when the situation calls for a hammer or a reciprocating saw to remove plastic from metal, reach for that hot iron instead.... zips through the plastic like a hot knife through butter. No plastic shavings nor smashed pieces flying all over the place, and it's silent unlike a grinder.
