I got a different trailer. This one is a lot less nerve racking to load and unload. this is a quick video on how to un-hook and re-hook to it.

It’d be nice to weld a 4-5” square tube to pivot up to stow and under the deck for disconnecting. No wood involved

Never would have guess there were so many steps to disconnecting and connecting those
@mrgoodtimes054 жыл бұрын
There's not that many, he did alot of extra steps. Hell if he pulled detach full time the steps and door latch would be worn out 3 times by now.

Nice work Dave.You sure got a lot of energy to step up and down from the truck so many times. At my job I've got to get in and out from the cab many times too, the difference is I'm on a cabover!!! I'm still here following your videos. All the best brother.

It is a great video . But overall out of 5 is only 4 points. Previous commenter mentioned abt trailer pin . You didnt show it after hoocking back . This is important to close it first before placing back eye locks ? Isnt it ? Other than that . It is informative and clear to understand . Thanks again !

Company has one where you don’t have to pull and separate from the fifth wheel so much simplistic and faster. Pulled it for the first time this weeks and no doubt if I had your kind I would have messed up some how

Nice video. I’m getting into heavy hauling soon and I’d like to have a basic understanding of these RGNs before going into the field. This video helped. Is the dropping and hooking process similar between the different trailers?
@outdoordave63046 жыл бұрын
BrandonPryorMusic yes, they are all pretty similar. It's time consuming in the beginning, but you will get faster. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel, be safe out there driver.

?? XL's how to video says to release the safety pin on the side of the trailer b4 rebooking, but wouldn't that bend the pin when the eye or whatever it's called hits it??

That RGN is a pretty easy trailer to use, I loved it.
@albertjones61765 жыл бұрын
@@outdoordave6304 I'm not knocking it,its just too many steps compared to a lowboy. 30 seconds and I'm dropped and unhooked.
@ronaldjackson7642 жыл бұрын
Hydraulic iz alot easier I'm thinking?
@galehess66766 жыл бұрын
You are a patient dude. Thanks. Could maybe drop the truck bags before going under, then start raising them and get them to where they still tip the 5th wheel and lock correctly, but aren't forcing the 5th wheel to lift so high. A description of the "why" of some of the steps that don't have it could add to the video's informative aspect. Not criticizing at all, adding that much detail could be unecessary on one hand. Laters.

I just started using one of these. Exact same trailer. But i dont release the stinger on the neck until im ready to pull out. After separated make sure you keep it straight, the neck can twist on the 5th wheel then you are gloriously fucked. Don't ask me how i know
@donridzon89144 жыл бұрын
Pulling the lock pin for the top deck first can result in severe damage. When you pull forward to release the lifting ears, there is nothing holding the deck on if the pins released. It can fall forward and hit the ground. Incorrect way of disconnecting IMO.

Outdoor Dave been pulling rgn for 30 years, Murray's and cozad mostly. Those hydrostatic don't really work for what we do. But thank you, very informative video.

That’s absolutely ridiculous!!!!! Why would anyone on this planet use this kinda trailer? It makes more sense to use a lowboy with a hydraulic 5th wheel tongue…. Period. I could have loaded a cat D8 dozer on a regular low boy in half the time……smh
