F/X CAD is now able to set a location using the GEOGRAPHICLOCATION command. Although F/X CAD does not have access to Bing Maps, it's entirely possible to input a latitude and longitude into the system to set your geomarker on the drawing in order to link your drawing with GIS.
Here's how to use Geolocation with F/X CAD 2017:
Step 1: Download and Extact the GEOLOCATION Capability
Step 2 (Necessary If You Only Have DMS Coordinates): Link Your Drawing With GIS
1. Open Google Earth Pro.
Need Google Earth Pro? It's free! Download and install Google Earth Pro.
2. Input your DMS format coordinates (eg: 43° 28' 33.10750" S, 172° 06' 06.6951 3" E or 43 28 33.10750 S, 172 06 06.69513 E) into the search box.
3. Right-click the resulting coordinate entry in the search box (not the pin on the map itself). Select Copy as KML from the menu that opens.
4. Open a text editor. Paste the copied text - either right-click and select Paste, or press CTRL+V (Windows) or CMD+V (Mac).
5. You'll now see DD coordinates in the text file (in our example, 172.1018597583333,-43.47586319444444,0).
6. Go back to F/X CAD. Type GEO in the Command line and press Enter to run GEOGRAPHICLOCATION.
7. Select the Map option.
8. As above, longitude and latitude are reversed between the Google Earth output you received and how they're listed here. Input the longitude and latitude in the correct locations (in our example, Latitude: -43.47586319444444, Longitude: 172.1018597583333). The window will round the numbers. Input an elevation if you have one.
9. Click Next. Select your GIS coordinate system (in our example, NZTM (Reference NZGD2000 - Meter - EPSG Code 2193).
10. Click Next. Specify the location, and the north direction. You've now linked your drawing with GIS.
