In this tutorial I'll show you how to set up a damage indicator that appears over an enemy when they're hit, then floats away and disappears much like the damage indicator in Fortnite.

hey man! Awesome tutorial, Which of your videos sets up the hip to iron sight animation when you aim? I've watched a few of yours and some of them are set up differently but i like how you have your animations here in this one for firing/idle

@@PitchforkAcademy Right on! I know youve done it a lot in your other tuts but one focusing on the third person animation starter pack for a shooter would be great. The video could be like "How to improve the default third person character" lol

Amazing Video ! Thank you for it but I have an issue, the line i trace doesn't hit the dummy, and just go through to hit whatever is behind. It works if I use a cube so I guess the issue lies with the collision of the dummy or something but i have no clue where. Do you have an idea what that could be ?

Yo bro can u make a video of how to do a call of duty mw3 type of cutscene like with free mocap, like the player is in a room or smth which is in a different level then when cutscene ends the player is in another level like and island then can start playing if u get what I mean

Amazing video as always! thank you for the content bro! I've gone astray a few videos ago and wanted to change a few things (So i understand you may not be able to help...). Ive implemented an enemy character (zombie) this is where ive tried to add the above widget system to. Its working, but the collision area of the trace line does not match the mesh of my enemy. i can miss the character but it will still be recognised as a hit. Have you come across this?

Go into the collision settings on your enemy's capsule component, set it to custom, then ignore whatever trace channel you are using for your line trace. You can also check the collision settings of its mesh to make sure it's set to block that trace channel. Hope this helps!
