Just to confirm, you simply need to short the RCA socket on the eliminator to trigger the bypass relay/s. In other words, switch it to ground. Reason I ask is that mine is not working. I am using it with a CB radio, so I had to make up an on delay relay switching box. Even if I short the PTT socket manually, no joy.

Hi Adam. I have the same set-up you do with the 7300, MFJ Versa Tuner II, and the MJF Artificial Ground, and the WiMo - thought i was looking at my station at first and was wondering how you got into my apt!!! So far, the WiMo has been most efficacious with the proper antenna. It took a long time to find the right antenna as my neighbor as well has a TV that is noisy. He is a licensed Ham but has a plasma TV, if you can believe that... you can see what his priorities are. Anyhow, I've gotten rid of most of that horrible "motorboat" noise using an active antenna (mini-whip) which seems to have done the trick for the most part. I'm using an 8-band Cobb Webb antenna as the main and also have a sloper as a second antenna that covers 75 & 40 meters. It is good that you show folks how to hook up the PTT bypass. I did that too and beats having to shut down the WiMo every time I TX (I did that number for a while until I got the jumper off of e-Bay). Take care and good job on the vid. There be more to come with the Wimo David, just waiting for something to arrive in the post and I'll have a better outside auxiliary antenna that I can use with the Wimo

Do you have your main antenna going into the WiMo first or to your tuner? I have mine going into my tuner direct and then to the WiMo... is that correct? That is the way I've been running it but I wonder if the other way would be better or even work like that? Thanks a bunch, and 73!

@@davidvaughn7752 I don't know David I have my Wimo in between the ATU and radio, I don't think it makes much difference, when I've got time I'll wire it so the antenna is feed straight into the Wimo, I have some other friends that use null steerers I'll ask them the same question

Thanks so much for this. I expect I nearly fried my radio and/or the WiMo trying to figure this out. The directions are TERRIBLE on what to do with your PTT. I guess you have to make incredibly vague instructions or make them for every radio. Ah well, still a great piece of gear. Thanks again!

Any idea how this would work on a Yaesu fT450D? There is no PTT jack like that

It'll work on any HF radio, you'll have to consult your manual to find where your PTT line out is for your radio, try typing PTT keying cable for your radio in Google, it'll need a RCA male plug to work with the wimo.

I've never owed a 706, try the radios instruction manual, I think that there still available online though Icom's website.

Hi there, I've never used a 718 so not familiar with the radio I think most ICOM radios use an RCA jake, consult with your radios manual.

@@adam-g7crq i see user manual. SEND CONTROL JACK [SEND] Goes to ground while transmitting to control external equipment such as a liner amplifier. -maximum control level: 16 V DC/2A

youre a star will i need to buy this lead or does it come with and what do you use as your aux antenna plz

Hi Brian, it does come with a lead but you'll have to fit one of the RCA jack's to it, I had one already so I just used that lead, you can buy them ready made of Amazon or eBay there very cheap, at the moment I'm just using a desk top active antenna, when I have time I'll plug something more substantial into it

@@brin2521 hi Brian, the only social media I use is you tube, there really easy to setup, I'm still playing with mine, the Wimo can only do one noise at a time, I bought mine to remove QRM generated on top band by a neighbours TV and I'm still on a learning curve with it myself

It was a cable I had laying around, any RCA cable will do the job.

@@Allthingsradioall these null steerers work about the same, you'll need a auxiliary antenna that's capable of receiving the noise you want to null out, remember that you'll only be able to null out one noise source at a time.

Yes I had a cheap Chinese 1 worked well BUT the jack plug had 3 wires and would only really work on Rx as the PTT wire was a waste of time so I'm sending it back
