How to setup a calendar and insert holidays in MS Project for beginners

Thank you Prof, your presentations are consistentently exceptional and always flawlessly organized. Is there a quick way of searching the number of holidays in a project?

Thanks for the kind words, yes go to project tab then change working time and what I do is scroll through the months looking that the holidays show up. Its quick and easy for me because i know which months have which holidays. For a 3 year project might take me 30 seconds.

Thanks for making such great videos! So easy to follow along with, and super informative. I have a question that I haven’t been able to find an answer to in any videos. Can you make a calendar where there is only 1 working day per month? Example: our construction projects can only move forward with board approval. Our board meets the Second Thursday of every Month. I’d like to create a calendar to insert into “Board Meeting” Tasks with only that working day available. Is this possible? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Jeff, Sure just setup a new calendar called board meeting and assign to board meeting. Im not sure that i would necessarily do it that way though. I would probably just base line the schedule and have the critical path run through the board meetings and when i ipdate if something is not approved then I would indicate the delay and reason in the update. @@TomStephensontraining thanks for the reply! I’ve created a Calendar where everyday BESIDES the second Thursday of each month are “nonworking”. When I assign that calendar to a task line, it schedules the task on the next available day, which should be showing as “nonworking”. I must be doing something incorrectly. Or maybe there isn’t a way to have 1 single working day per month in a calendar?
