In Video 3 I teach how to create a calendar that has all the holidays in it. If you don't put holidays every time you take one you will be a day more behind schedule. I also show how to create custom calendars for trades and how to create work days such as 3 Saturdays in March. If you have not seen the previous videos check my playlist also the links are below for the previous 2 videos and the google drive link to the start point file for this lesson.

Great, when scheduling often thinking in terms of smaller zones or batches can help to shorten it.

I have a doubt about Specific calendar can you help me? I Set a specific calendar for a task team, but when the program calculates "hours x team cost/hour" (total price for resource), it actually considers the total hours from the standard calendar (8 hours) and it does reflect in a slightly higher total cost for this team overall; Beacuse not all days of week are 8 hours; But only 3 hours at fridays for example. So in this case, is there something else I´m forgeting to set in the program, in order to give me the right results for this resource cost (team)?? Also it does not show this "3 hours in friday" when i look at "Task usage"

Good day, Professor. I think in the new version of MS Project, assigning a special calendar doesn't affect the critical paths before it again. Thanks, Professor.

You should be able to do ot by going to change working time and details. I would probably do it yearly and make that file my starting point template

Hi Great videos. I'm sure it's an easy fix but I've put a project together and the critical path will not highlight in red. The start date of the project is September when I ask to show the total float it is showing 132 days for most of the task so from today's date. Any help appreciated

Hi Derek, Did you go to format and click on critical path? Otherwise it usually means you have a constraint on a critical activity it shows as a checkered box in the indicator columin the entry screen or you can insert the column in any screen.

@@TomStephensontraining Hi. Yes I've clicked show critical path in the format section but nothing. I will try figure the constraint but its not highlighting anything. I take it the float will just change as the project come nearer or is there a way to see actually float for the forthcoming project rather than from todays date?

I have learned MSP through your video and it was very helpful. However I came across a problem where I find difficulty to fix durations which is showing in decimals.... It is supposed to be fixed by Project Options which you did not explain at the end of this video and did not clear where you have posted that video😊... Plz if you can help to send link for fixing of decimal issues on durations. Thanks

Hi, did you change the work hours per week to something other than 40 hrs? If so try matching in the options go to hours per week and change to the same hours as the project calendar. Try in a file with a different name to troubleshoot.
