yes and no, Dobly Atmos does not mean height channels. It means sound in 3 dimensional space placement, which you can also do with as little as 2 speakers. The top speakers are height channels and are active in those roles through TrueImage, but the tv can not decode Dolby Atmos.

The only recommended setting for the back channels when you have a 5.1 setup is Left/Right Surround. This isn't just a B&O recommendation, that goes for any other AVR too. It would be great to have some more details about the settings (in Dutch): " panning", "omleidingniveaus", omleidingbalans" Do you also recommend to completely switch off both internal L/R speakers in the Eclipse in combination with BL 28's (fronts)? If you want all three on I would do it as Geoff says to do at around 15:50 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qdx5iNursOCtaHk.html it depends on how close everything is together if that'll work well or not imho. I'll make a note of that for a next potential video about the settings, thanks for the suggestion :D

you can keep your tv if you buy the Theatre and then you can connect it all fairly easily. The Theatre will be your center channel and receiver in one.

Sorry, it was a late night ''quickie'' lol To answer your question, keep in mind that I'll say that's what's recommended but if you don't like it, just do what you like the sound of more. it's your setup and only you have to like it in the end. I would setup both channels in the bv11 as center and have them on, yes. And the 3's should be set as surround. That's the recommended setup for 5.1 sources. So you'd have L/C/R/LS/RS. But like I said, if you like it more the way you have now keep it like that. Make sure the distances are set correctly as that will really affect sound too! Hope this helps?

@@Mikipedia thank you so much, il test the differences between Surround vs Rear since the speakers are pretty far behind the sitting position. Funny ive had B&O Tv's and speakers since i was little and have never given though to the Distance as i alwasy thought that was just some gimmick if i didnt wanna set the DB +- for each speaker, but after watching this i actually mesured everything and damn does it actually make a bit of difference. So thank you again. And would love more videos from you about just about anything B&O whether it is settings for Speakers, preferred placement for specific Beolab speaker or you comparing 2 sets since you have quite a few nice ones in the same room. You're welcome and you have to set both distance and db. The distance is because there is latency in sound and since speakers are at different distances away from you they fire out of sync if the distance is set incorrectly. Not just that, the speakers have different latencies and in different frequencies from each other. I'll see when I have some time to make more stuff like this! Thank you!

Under ''sources'' you can make the sources louder or quieter if you like. I would suggest adding about 3db initially and see if that does it for you. As for the 4K player, the Harmony can handle bitstream if it is sent in a format the soundcenter understands. PCM is one of the best you could do because it's fully uncompressed and up to 7.1 works with the Harmony. If you really want to keep it bitstream and not mess around too much, you could also try and attach the player to an HDMI port of the panel itself instead of directly in to the soundcenter. I think this limits out to Dolby Digital+ but not 100% sure on that. but to reemphasize PCM/LPCM is great and B&O's soundcenters love it!

@@Mikipedia thanks💪…I connected the 4k to the oled but the soundcenter still has no sound on bitstream dolby truehd, just PCM. Is the kwmobile edid manager a workoround to get the dolby true hd out off the harmony?

@@lukamarkovic7500 oooooh, now it makes sense. There is unfortunately no way to make it play Dolby TrueHD as it's not a supported format. The work around I have done for streaming and the like and those are almost exclusively Atmos on Dolby Digital +. In your case you either need to pick that track, which is lossy, or stick with the 7.1 LPCM which is uncompressed and very good too.

Did you update the LG tv recently? assuming you have one. Because if so, you need to set the TV to passthrough again(LG's update did some funky things to the tv audio settings). Are the ''rear'' speakers set to rear or to surround? If they are set to rear they will only function in a direct mode with a 7.1 source. In a 5.1 setup the ''rear'' speakers are ALWAYS the surround channels.

@@Mikipedia Hi thanks for the reply, Im using a Sony A90J. Any advice with what to do here. I had to manually set the side speaekrs as rears but in direct i dont hear anything nothing from the centre speaker either.

I don't think I fully understand your setup and it's hard to give the right advice in that case. Could you write it out while being very specific and what does what in which circumstance? BTW, in a 5.1 setup your ''rear'' speakers MUST be set to ''surround'' for the direct signal processing to use them correctly or at all. PS why do you not want to use trueimage? It's default to direct mode essentially unless there are more or less channels available than the incoming source provides for.

@@Mikipedia hi thanks for replying once again, I think my system sounds better in direct compared to true image ON or atleast that’s how I perceive it to sound in my space. I just wanted my setup to not do anything fancy on top of how the source has been intended to sound. I have the theatre as centre 90s as sides 8s as rears. btw the speakers were set to surrounds instead of rears I still wasn’t getting audio in all my speakers when set to direct.

So the 90's need to be set to Front Left and Front Right, the 8's need to be set to Surround Left and Surround Right, the Theatre is still the center, but does no ''side'' or ''front L/R'' roles at all (assuming you set them up correctly for the sources, outputs and defaults in the B&O app for listening positions). This is a must in a 5.1 setup. The direct mode does't guarantee any audio from all channels if it's not mixed for it. Beyond that, I would suspect it's your tv not passing sound through correctly. In the B&O app you can see which audio codec comes in and which is put out. Have a look at how that changes in the B&O app when you change the settings on the TV itself.
