I came here to find a good application of logic because I've never needed it before, and while I'm sure I found it, trying to understand it made me feel like a donkey looking at the large hadron collider

Thanks for the tutorial i managed to make my smelters with 2 blocks in between and from the smelter 3 belts and infront and back of smelter with a total of 4 blocks tall and 7 long from splitter. Now i just gotta get a sytstem for the gems.

I ended up doing a setup that tracks total inventory for each resource, then I can click a button for each resource. For auto smelters it ejects the ingot, for the gems it triggers a magnet system that drops the gem on the same belt the ingots eject to. The button also resets the inventory counter. The belt onto which resources are ejected runs through a logic saw. It ships the cut resources into a workshop space and the remainder is sorted back into its refiner where it is counted into inventory again. The inventory count is displayed on a logic reader above the corresponding resource button.

I have tried again with this setup and I now only lose 2/3 every cycle. That’s 100x better than the magnet where I would lose at least 25 chunks of ore making it where I would have to use the pause menu clean up every cycle!!!

You should check my latest auto smelter build it’s even more efficient and a lot smaller 😁 using the new content reader rather than the weight reader 😁

@@Krypt0niteI may in time but at the moment I have stopped playing it once again because my save will no longer load and I spent about all together a day Playing it from a new save 🫠 I don’t want to do it all again yet anyway 😅

How i can smelt exact weight bars for quests pls?

In my system the the valve just open when it want. If i'm doing a test and pass one bar through the weight scanner, everything works ok: the scanner send a signal to valve, that valve stops and two secs later the forge make a bar, when the bar is outputed, another weight scanner send a signal to reset the system, the valve opens two seconds later and everything returns. BUT, when i turn on the system with multiples ores of the same type pass the scanner, when reach the expected weight, the valve stops, the forge works, BUT the valve return imediatly, not waiting the 2 secs timers, thats cause a big pile of ore around the forge. Every setup i have made this happens. I'll give up. Know you what's wrong?

First of all thank you for your support on watching my videos I’m glad I could help 👍 It can be confusing and sometimes it’s difficult to explain why things work and how, my advice would be aswell as watching tutorials go into creative and play around with things you are confused about and see what they do and don’t do with basic things, this should help you have a better understanding along with watching tutorials 😁

Currently using the 1st one had to move a few things around like the 1 sec had to move it from the magnet to the furnace

I find logic gates so hard to understand. I've watched basic logic videos (OR, NOR, AND, etc). But it just doesn't sink in or where and how to apply. Should I just play around with basic things in Hydroneer? I had the same problems in Minecraft and Factorio, sucks not building anything automated or advanced.

Yeah sometimes it’s hard to understand how it all works together best thing to do is play around with them to get a better understanding

damn! Can't get this figured out. It just doesn't want to work. I've tried both of your methods and I keep getting the belt (or the magnet) turned on as soon as the weight reader changes it's value. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Can it be the orientation of the T sections?

It could be or it could be the placement of the delays, it took me a while to get it all figured out due to this

Good to hear!! Glad you got it to work, it’s definitely all about fine tuning and playing around with things, some of my designs have taken me ages to solve a problem and sometimes it’s as simple as moving 1 thing

Can i make it give me exact amounts cuz if i set it for a 100 it gives me a range of 99.01 to 105

Through my testing most of the time it gives the amount you input give or take a little bit I don’t think it’s possible to get an “exact” amount just because of how all the timing etc works, the other way to do it is set it for above and use a logic saw hook to give you exact amount 👍

🫠 Big brain shit figuring that out.. what iam missing tho…why auto smelt?? What’s the benefit to Pumping out equal weight bars..smelters can hold an infinite amount of ore..All those extra belts + wires = lag. ✌️😎

It’s all personal preference if I’m honest, I like messing around with logic and making things all automated so any quests etc I can just grab a bar of any weight easy peasy, for me it’s just satisfaction 😅 ✌️
