Hello my friend ...... I have a problem with people always getting connected via the QR code on my users phones..... How can i disable QR scanning ..... Its a hassle to change the password every once in a while then i have to put it in all my peoples phones...... I heard something about changing it from WPA-PSK mode to WEP mode then QR code scanning is disable.....but the Telkom router does not have this in the settings website

Would that be Telkom LTE? If so, your local Telkom tower most probably doesn't have back up batteries and hence when it's loadshedding the whole tower goes down so you don't get any signal.

Good day, the DSL-2750U can't be set up as an extender or repeater. It can only be set up as a wired access point. For steps on how to do this, please email support@za.dlink.com

Good day, where are you being asked for an order number? Usually you need your account details from your Internet service provider (Telkom for example). The username will look like an email address with a password that is a mix of numbers and letters

I dont have a computer. Does telkom come to ur house and install a satellite disc??

Good day, I'm not sure what your question is. You'll need to contact Telkom to confirm if they install satellite dishes, but as far as we know they don't.

Hi there. My router has recently packed up and I am using my friends old D-link router and trying to set it up. Unfortunately I dont have the install disk. Does that disk have the connection wizard needed to setup my router? Or can it be setup without it?

Hi Wayne, no you don't need an install disk. The wizard is a web based setup wizard. Just connect the router to your laptop/computer via the LAN cable (yellow cable), open your web browser and go to 10.0.0.2 (make sure you aren't connected to another Wi-Fi network or connected to the internet)

@@D-LinkZA My laptop doesn't have an eithernet port only a usb wifi dongle. Does the laptop need to be plugged in with a lan cable the first time it is setup? Is it not possible to do wirelessly?

@@WAYNECHERE You can do it wirelessly. It's just usually easier on a LAN connection. You'll just need to connect to the D-Link router's Wi-Fi signal and use the WPA key printed on the bottom of the router as the password. Also, make sure you are disconnected from the Wi-Fi dongle. Then you open google chrome (or any other internet browser) and type in 10.0.0.2 in the internet search bar.

Just note: If you use a wireless connection to setup the router - once you change the Wi-Fi name and password for the router on one of the steps in the setup wizard, your laptop will disconnect from the router. So you will need to re-connect to the Wi-Fi network (now the name & password you chose on the setup) and continue with the rest of the wizard.

@@D-LinkZA Thank you will try it tonight again.. Think my settings are still connected to my old router because whenever I type in 10.0.0.2 I get a zyxel home screen not that D-link setup one like in the pdf. Thank you for your help.

Hi Maria, this is probably due to the Wi-Fi channel set on your router. Some devices can't see certain channels, hence your laptop sees other Wi-Fi's but not the router's. Try set your router's Wi-Fi channel to either 1, 6 or 11.

@@mariairenepintocoelho6508 On the DSL-2750U you can go to the advanced tab then select Wireless. Then were it says auto, you can select that dropdown and select the channel 1, 6 or 11. If you get stuck you can always start a live chat with us at www.d-link.co.za

Do not use Telkom. They used to run backup power during loadshedding but have stopped doing this so service stops during loadshedding, or becomes very slow.
