I'm glad you had your little girls voice in the video. The sounds of little ones giggling with pure joy makes my heart happy. And when you were both giggling after she told you to be more fashionable was so fun. Tell her she's right about that! That was just what I needed today to make me smile. I'm a widow in the process of becoming an empty nester (after raising 6 kids) and there are just some cloudy days. I love the noise of a house with little ones. And by the way I also I liked your apron and I recognized your fish fabric. Fun times at the beach in the summer. Take time to spend some lazy days with the family this summer and have lots of fun and giggles.

For those asking about the length of the tie-strap, I made 2 of these for my husband and son-in-law as Father's Day gifts. They range between 5'8" and 5'11" and both wear a size L in clothing. The tie-strap ended up needing to be around 104". I shortened the main panel of the apron to 34.5" (finished) because I didn't want it hanging down to their knees. The total project took me 6-8 hours for EACH apron (I'm no expert sewer, but I'm also far from a beginner...). Granted, I made mine double layer (single layer was going to be way too flimsy with the regular quilting cotton I bought) and did the same with the pocket (I also added a second large pocket plus another small one specifically for a cell phone). But still. This project took sooo much longer than I would have ever anticipated (making the extra pockets was fast, and doubling-up on the fabric really only adds about an hour, total, for all pieces). Each tie-strap took more than an hour alone (cutting, ironing, sewing together strips, then folding and ironing again...ugh). So, just FYI for anyone who is really counting on a very quick project...I don't see how this project could take 20 minutes unless we're only counting literal sewing time for a single-layer, single pocket, project (with the tie-strap already completely assembled and sewn). They did come out looking really nice, though when being worn, the top of the apron bunches kind of weird (I used exact measurements for everything but the length). Maybe that's true for most aprons? idk. The video was so helpful, and I'd definitely make this apron again...but now I'll know to expect it to take several hours.
