Get the BEST antibiotic-free, pasture-raised pork from Thrive Market: www.thrivemark...
I headed to the meat section of the grocery store to show you what to look for when you buy beef, chicken, pork, and turkey. There are a lot of options, but conventional meat comes from factory farms and eats a diet of GMO corn and soy, this is not what you want to buy. FOr beef, grass-fed is by far the best choice. For chicken, always buy organic, or if you can go to a local co-op try to look for pasture raised. Pork is the toughest to buy, almost all of it is factory farmed, there is no organic or pasture raised pork. For ground turkey, look for organic and stay away from white meat, it's too lean. Mad love Bobby...Dessi...Rose...and Art! XOXO

I don’t understand why the government allows the animals to be treated so badly and live a poor life there should be laws in place so the animals can at least be raised properly and treated right.

Keep in mind the deep state gets into this! If you want to destroy a nation, then destroy its people’s health! People are replaceable with another stronger nation who is able to take over this country with their own people. The food industry is a subtle way to do this! Wake up America!

The economic incentive is not there. For those who cannot afford 100% grass-fed meats, go for meats that have no hormones or antibiotics in them. You might also find that grass-finished beef is a bit more affordable. And, if you cannot afford or cannot find the best bacon, go for uncured bacon. At least you will be avoiding those toxic preservatives.

I agree. Hunting is another option. But, I have a hard time with that though my kid wants to in the near future. Another option is if you have a local meat processing place nearby and you can stock up by buying 1/2 a cow or 1/4 cow or half a pig, etc. then you would have a lot of meat for the year. I did this one time before. The price per pound goes way, way way down when buying this way.

@Mianlo 2 Capitalism isn't to blame for people's desire to have the cheapest product. Capitalism is the reason there is competition. The cost to produce and maintain organic products are more expensive, thus the higher cost. The cost would come down some; however, it will never be the cost of what it is to do it currently regardless of competition. There is such a thing as diminishing return.

The reason there isn't more organic pork is because pigs are bottom feeders and grow parasites and worms easier. They're also more prone to infections. Furthermore, adding too much antibiotics to the pork would cause super parasites that are resistant to the antibiotics, so once we consume the meat and get infected, the medicine our doctors would give us wouldn't work nearly as well. It's pretty similar to how your body fights off the flu after getting the flu shot, except the worms and bugs are the ones getting the shots. Trust me, the last thing we need is more organic pork. I'd say we're better off limiting or just cutting pork out of our diets altogether.

I've used ground turkey breast meat my entire adult life... I don't eat beef or pork. The thing with cooking it is to add water if your crumbling it up so you don't cook it too fast or dry it out. You can even add a little healthy oil to it since the breast is a bit dryer than the other parts. Overall its a better cut of meat and better for you. It makes the best burgers. Ive got a simple great recipe! I use it for everything that everyone else uses ground beef for.

From what I've read, the risks of GMO are highly exaggerated and/or nonexistent. And grain fed vs grass fed is only an issue if you don't supplement. If you take fish oil or krill oil as I do, the fatty acid issue with grain fed is also irrelevant.

As far as chicken, I didn't think organic on the label means they're housed any differently. If there's no humane label they're still most likely housed the same as conventional, but fed organic feed. I felt you were saying something different in that segment. Or am I incorrect?
@privatesuzie4071
@privatesuzie4071 4 жыл бұрын
Mindy S i think you are correct. For me organic is not enough. Humanely raised is as important. You can get both. It is expensive, but I support the farmers who care about their stock, aNd I have cut my portions in half so I can afford to support them. Demand for animal by products has increased, so bad practices are worse than ever, especially for chickens and pork. These are not unionized like beef where you might find some better controls. What is not often considered is the stress on the people in the slaughter houses who have to be a part of the inhumane treatment and meet killing quotas that are almost impossible to believe. And animals who are frightened and not efficiently put down traumatize many of the workers at a PTSD level. Becoming vegetarian is not as effective of a response as supporting ranchers who run humane establishments at the animal and human levels.
@calebhuang2429
@calebhuang2429 4 жыл бұрын
All organic means is the feed is organic soy n corn. Far from ideal. And free range usually means access to a small dirt lot at best. Usually it means they are crammed in a barn. Pasture raised is where it's truly at.

Liver is amazing! It is a great source of heme iron and contains all the essential nutrients that the human body requires. It does have a very strong iron-like flavor which can be offputting to many. To diminish the iron-like taste, you need to rinse the liver under water until the water runs clear, or let it soak in water. I've even heard of some people who soak it in milk. The easiest and quickest way is to just rinse the liver in some water until the water runs fully clear. If you do it right, I think you'll find that liver actually has a nice taste.

Organic, grass fed meat is so pricey but just try to find the best value for the money with Thrive. I also got pork chops in the first order and they were incredible but very small. Like I said, the best thing I got (best for the money and insanely delicious) was the whole cut up chicken. Hope to buy more soon. I have a site and I wrote a review of my experience with Thrive vs. Butcherbox and I am going to make more posts when I make my 2nd Thrive order. I think it would be helpful to see exactly how big the portions are and I am going to do that on my site in the near future. I want to be able to figure out the best values. The meat is excellent though!

I personally find most Thrive Market meat packs to be overpriced for the amount of meat you get. If you do some research, you can buy pasture-raised, organic, grass-fed meats in bulk from local farms for oftentimes cheaper. However, Thrive Market has decent deals on its chicken bundles. Thrive Market chicken is pasture-raised, organic, and certified humane. It also tastes great and is usually cheaper than the beef/pork/mixed boxes. I love the Chicken Thighs/Breasts box and I've ordered it twice now.

Video idea? Pick up several packages of grass fed roasts and show us which roast is going to roast the best & what you base that in. The same with steaks. Everyone points out “marbling” but how much is too much?

Your videos are extremely helpful! We all want to eat good but to eat good is to also pay good to eat good lol if we all just made smarter choices in what your going to put into your body your body will thank you.. But to have a idea of what companies put in food products is scary and is a major part of people getting diseases, sick often, mood issues, lack of sleep, bad body odor, headaches, joint pain etc...

I did some checking at my local Walmart on the Grass Fed Beef. I know the best you can get is "80/20" Organic Grass Fed beef, but my Walmart only has "85/15" Organic Grass Fed beef. They do have "80/20" Grass Fed beef, but it is not Organic. Would that be considered as a "Better for you" item since it isn't organic??

I can't find good chicken or turkey. Unfortunately I don't like beef which has more grass fed. Not sure what to do. I could check out thrive? I shop at Kroger because I can walk there. I don't own a car any longer. I'm solo now and costco portions too big

Wait a minute, why wouldn’t organic grass fed vs. non organic grass fed 80/20 ground beef make a difference? Would that mean there isn’t a study : Metabolization in cows ; affects of organic grass vs. chemically treated grass and the consequences. lol 😂 I think my theory would be that it did make a difference or am I reaching? I found your channel and I am loving and LIVING what you are saying. I am actually listening to you and applying it everyday, in my life. 💗
