In this video, my student Joao Gabriel Torres and I do a vocal takedown of Skid Row's Sebastian Bach on I Remember You. We go Line-by-line on how we set up for each part of the song to make it to the end in Real Time.

I thought it would be interesting, especially for my singing friends out there, to do a takedown and a live demonstration of songs we have been singing in the studio.
I thought it would be interesting for people to see that the songs have to be worked up and are not just in "open your mouth and the angels start singing" kind of phenomenon.
We all have to work at this and no one is a Superman.
Yes, there are some people that are more gifted than others, that is quite true but ultimately everyone has to work at this.
So I thought it would be interesting to pull back the curtain and have an analysis and dialogue with actual live "on the fly" singing to demonstrate how these kinds of songs come to be.

He has a lovely voice very clear with the lyrics. But Sebastian Sebastian his singing is so full of passion and his range is unbelievable! So much power in his voice gives me chills every single time I her him sing.

I met Sebastian back stage real quick years ago. He naturally has a nasally, high pitch voice even when he talks. I noticed the same thing with John Fogerty. Great job! And great job breaking the song down Killing it from a sitting position.

God I love Joao... Just Love your voice darlin'. I love when you put him on the spot with the Skid Row's "I Remember You", of all songs. To tell him to just sing on the spot and he just did it like it was nothing, was just amazing and I was very impressed... (my favorite song by the way).. so you did my favorite song justice and now you have a new fan from Ohio. 🥰😉 ..I love that Joao sings it like himself, while still being true to the record.. My favorite as well. This is what brought me to the video. Yes he did an amazing job! Not one of those times where you say, yeah he did good. While I love & enjoy this belting songs, I also look forward that you can also cover like this other high male songs but those a bit more ballad/mellow genre e.g. like Survivor & Journey, Foreigner songs.. they’re not as high as these Skid Row or Bon Jovi’s but still quite difficult to perform. Ken it's British Wayne again I've just watched you teaching 9 yesterday ago On line how to sing Chris Cornell,,,, I can open my throat up and hit notes without diying a thousand deaths I've bin hitting ya up lots lately coz that was in my late thirty's stopped singing coz I was doing it wrong just joined a band had 2 practice,'s they were tuned down a 1/2 step I couldn't do it so I left I've got a long way to go but on the right path with your guidance I will do it,,,
