For perks, you should always run It’s a Bug Thing with second wind, so you can get within the Lootbug’s popping radius faster.

I'm still very new to the game, and hearing the Breach Cutter described as single target and the Shard Defractor described as crowd control is wild to me, because I've been using them the opposite way. I don't have almost any overclocks for either (2 for the cutter, 1 for the defractor), but I've built my cutter with wide beam and plasma trail to clear up groups, and I use the shard defractor as an accurate single-target weapon on my crowd control builds

13:13 Some notes on the Hyper Propellant build. The OC adds so much velocity that taking High Velocity Grenades on tier 3 can make the shots fly TOO fast and clip through targets. This may be less of an issue as host, I'm not sure as I rarely host. There is a bug in the interaction between Incendiary Compound and Homebrew Explosive, where Homebrew Explosive does nothing if Incendiary Compound is equipped. waste did a video on it a couple weeks ago: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nL2ZoNSLktOzY6s.html It's a shame because Incendiary Compound is a great pick with Hyper Propellant. Since the OC converts all damage to 'disintegrate' type, you don't take the 50% damage penalty from IC, but still get to keep the heat, which is great for oneshotting Patrol Bots

I'm very glad you went in depth with each of the classes on what you'd pick and why and what you feel is relevant and not. And it was really cool to see how you really feel that in solo every player has to be willing to kill every bug that comes at them and just be done with them. with AI stability engine my main source of armor break literally becomes my power attack, which is fun and funny, but probably not ideal

Thermal exhast is my fav for the drak, but you need to balance the 50% heat for the bonus which takes practice

I've always been a single build kinda guy, as in I really like builds that are good at doing everything well so I don't have to switch in between missions. I used to use cryo cannon for everything aside from sab but after playing with the sludge pump a little more I feel like there isn't a mission type its bad in. Can handle dreds and sab really well and has decent enough crowd control when paired with wave cooker that I feel comfortable using it in general missions as well. Crispr's inability to deal with large targets and cryo's tough time dealing with bosses and non bug enemies (coupled with the fact that every other class in the game wants to put heat on their weapons) has really made me favor using sludge pump in every mission type. I use the volatile impact overclock for everything. The decreased puddle lifetime for doesn't feel super great for hordes but the norm shots do so much damage its hard to pass up.

Like you said with scout, with the Zhukov taking embedded detonators is amazing single target damage, one of the best in the scouts secondary slot. With that in mind why not build GK2 for grunt clear?

Impact deflection isn't for spraying around the room. Its for bouncing between the floor and the bugs underside.

question: why run coil gun on sabotage? is it for everythng besides the caretaker; the coil gun can only hurt the Caretaker's eyes, and it's just the projectile that harms the eye, not the trail

im totally with you for the lock on except that, executioner i can manage but explore rounds i just can't have a just 3 lock on an enemy i always end up with 2 on every bugs in the cave, but i think with a bit of training the lock on can be worth it.

I really don't understand why everyone I've ever met thinks the M1000 is the bee's knees. It's so slow and the overall DPS is much lower than the GK, as is the ammo. Maybe I'm just building it wrong, but even trying to max the value from blowthrough rounds doesn't get me much.

Great vid, but I'm gonna have to hard disagree with the full auto subata for single target. Subata itself is in a very bad spot right now with brutal accuracy stats and either too little ammo or damage depending on the OC. EPC with tcf pretty much outstrips anything else you can take in the slot for its versatility and damage. Something of an argument can be made for explosive reload but it requires more kiting to hit the unarmored bits of prets/oppressors. It has a leg up in regards to ranged targets like spitters but the abysmal accuracy while moving and exponential bloom forces you to stand still and tap mid swarm or you'll miss most shots past 40-50m. On the bright side, GSG has confirmed that subata is getting a touch up in season 4 (presumably like GK2) so my opinion may change in roughly a month. Until then, RIP subata.

VIM does crazy damage to the Caretaker - 160% bonus corrosive damage, CSP is half corrosive damage so 80% net damage bonus against the eyes and vents. Arms take 100% bonus corrosive, so 50% bonus. Patrol bots are also 100%/50%. I always find flamethrower lacking a bit despite being purpose-made for it because you can't get the sticky flames to maintain heat on patrol bots unless they cooperate. And the damage of CRSPR/Subata on Caretaker itself is ass because, even though you're c4ing the vents anyway, the eye can't be set on fire so you're just tickling the thing outside of axes. For 4000 health.

The annoying thing about m1k is that it is just too good all around base, and hipster just compounds it. I wish that plasma carbine got a slight buff. However, shield battery booster is really strong against dreads (but not crowds, you're HONNA get chipped there.)

Honestly, here are my thoughts on Driller wepaons, I mostly agree with you, just wanted to add some stuff: Flamethrower: great in Groups, since you can melt smaller enemies while your team kills big targets Cryo Cannon: my pick for solo 99% of the time. Also Ice spear is amazing against Caretaker and Dreadnaughts. Sludge Pump: I choose it with Sludge Blast on solo (and group) elimination most of the time. Also pretty good against rival tech. Subata: (In solo) Honestly I rarely use it, I'll explain later why. EPC: You can mine with it, so it's a very good utility there. Plus if you run Burning Nightmare, you can clear out gas clouds from bigger enemies. (If you're not running flame). Microwave: my pick for solo. If built with the correct upgrades, it can be combined with Cryo (and Flame) to completely annihilate groups of enemies, as well as deal high damage to bigger enemies with temp shock. But hey, what do I know? I'm playing Solo haz 4 and you're talking about Haz 5, maybe I'm completely wrong. Anyway, great video, I really enjoy your content. Keep it up :) 👍
