I love these videos and hope you make a bunch of them before you hit the road. You could even spend the next few weeks just filming going through racks, take the footage on the road with you, and edit later and put them out for the rest of the year.

Goodfellow is Target's new Mossimo and Merona combined into one Assenstein's Monster. The reason why you see so much of it (and Wild Fable, All In Motion, and other Target brands) is because Target has some deal where they liquidate directly to Goodwill - maybe someone with more knowledge than me can fill in the blanks. A less-than-articulate Goodwill employee tried to explain it to me once but it didn't really make much sense.

Interesting. They are probably writing the donations off on their taxes. Many businesses do this, it's actually a good time of year to make bulk purchases at thrifts for this reason.

Right now Tommy Bahama silk hawaiian shirts are 100% sell-through. But only in 2XL and bigger. I had one up for sale and it sold in less than a week. It was a bins pickup, and I was surprised, so I looked it up. not only are those 100% sell through, but I sold it under market without realizing it. I guess that's why it pays to keep checking things you have written off. Like you said about the Brixton shirts.

Tangential, but last week, I discovered that we have a "Goodwill Outlet" in town. I decided to go check out the book situation. I had no idea.... I was unaware of Amazon scanners and the folks employing them. I had no idea about the scale. I had no plan. I tried hard to stay out of the way of anyone else, found an unoccupied bin and just started sifting. Right off the bat found a copy of Chapterhouse and an Alan Dean Foster book. I knew though that I was completely unequipped mentally to go much further. I got home and started googling about the scanners...ended up with more questions than answers. I was concerned about etiquette and procedure... Needless to say, in the interim, this channel has provided some definite insights I needed. Now I just have to figure out a solid plan and way forward. I'm clearly in a land rich in used book resources, but I have no plan in place to sell what I pick. LOL Harder still is deciding what not to keep. I'm sure shirts aren't all that different in this scenario.

@@ThriftALife LOL will do. It was more like encountering bots IRL. They didn't seem concerned with me because they could tell immediately that I wasn't a bot. Are they all just looking for whatever the scanner green lights and that's it? Is it all self help and cookbooks? I was too timid to ask and didn't want to disturb. I definitely didn't get the impression they were hunting vintage SF though. LOL

Nothing to do with this video cuz I haven’t watched it yet (in process) but since this is one of your fairly recent videos I hope you’ll read it. I really respect you and all you’ve shared and accomplished. I listen to and appreciate every word and tip actually. I’m new to reselling as a need for income, but creeping up on 70th birthday so it’s definitely a need for income now. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge on reselling clothes. I’m going to watch, listen, and apply everything you have to share about books too. So far what I’ve sold is mostly stuff I already had. I didn’t realize when I was giving away my late husband’s very large size clothes and shoes that large sizes supposedly are great sellers. So are model airplanes. So are books. Apparently I gave away sacks of cash, dammit. I’m paying close attention now almost 2 years later. Thanks for all you do is really my point. It’s very useful, plus I love the sarcasm you include. Im looking forward to learning about reselling books and will try not to dwell on the tons I gave away. Thank you. Don’t stop.
