The 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics is awarded to Ferenc Krausz, Anne L’Huileire and Pierre Agostini for experiments that led to the development of Attosecond Pulses of Light. We’re diving deep into the basics of Attosecond Physics with a three-episode series in Hindi for Laymen.
In Episode 1 we’ll be building our basics of vision and time. How do we capture fast motion? What is the role of the shutter in cameras while capturing fast movement? How can we capture ultrafast motion with the help of light pulses? What role does laser play in generating these short pulses of light? What exactly is an attosecond? And How is the field of Attosecond Physics born? We will deal with all these questions and more in suitable detail for laymen.
Although very basic, this video might help you brush up basics of vision, perception, light and time.
In Episodes 2 and 3, we’ll begin the journey of attosecond pulses. How do we generate attosecond pulses in the lab? What is the theoretical framework behind higher harmonic generation and attosecond pulses? What are some cool and groundbreaking applications of attosecond pulses? Creating these videos was a fun ride for me. I hope you enjoy them as well. Love, Peace and Happy Learning!

दोस्तों, इस सिरीज़ के बाकी 2 एपिसोड भी देखिए. नीचे दिए गए प्लेलिस्ट के लिंक से. PLAYLISTS :- Attosecond Physics(3 Episodes) - kzfaq.info/sun/PL8fSc1aUD4KhdMx-HCpXSgjTNbgxDuM_W&si=w7uYxIcHeOy3mFIK All Nobel Prize Explainers in Hindi - kzfaq.info/sun/PL8fSc1aUD4KhUpgCnm_iBxKnpyLiO1Ixs&si=HJu7mJQgsXezTQ2S

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:11 🌐 *Overview of Knowledge and Philosophy* - The speaker introduces the broad concept of knowledge and philosophy. - Emphasis on the extensive range of experiences and the classification of philosophy as a science. 00:38 📚 *Importance of Physics in Observing Phenomena* - Physics as a discipline encompasses observations from astronomical phenomena to events at the microscopic level. - Highlight on the deep curiosity of physicists to observe all occurrences, including those beyond our initial capabilities. 01:06 ⚡ *Attosecond Pulses Technology* - Introduction to the 2023 Physics Nobel Prize related to attosecond pulses technology. - Attosecond pulses enable the observation of extremely fast and short-lived events. 01:45 🌐 *Structure of the Video Series* - Division of the topic into three parts for better understanding. - Part one focuses on fundamental concepts related to observation and registration of events. 02:31 💡 *Limitations of Human Perception* - Human perception is limited by what is visible and is constrained by the electromagnetic waves of light. 03:13 🧠 *Science's Understanding Beyond Direct Perception* - Recognition of science's role in understanding the world beyond direct perception. - Acknowledgment that the human senses provide a partial input, and the brain interprets it to form an imperfect image of reality. 03:27 📷 *Understanding the Electromagnetic Spectrum:* - The electromagnetic spectrum from the sun contains waves of various frequencies. - Human eyes capture light waves roughly between 400 to 800 terahertz. 04:23 🎥 *Basics of High-Speed Camera Technology:* - Traditional cameras struggle to capture fast movements due to their mechanical limitations. - Advanced camera technology, developed by the 2023 Physics Nobel Laureates, enables high-speed event capture. 05:17 📸 *Exposure and Camera Parameters:* - Exposure in photography involves controlling parameters like ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. - Shutter and exposure parameters are critical in capturing fast-paced events. 06:13 💧 *Balancing Rainwater Collection* - Controlling the inflow of rainwater into a bucket analogy. - The width of the bucket and the size of the opening (lid) control the amount of collected rainwater. 07:09 📸 *Photography and Photon Collection* - Drawing parallels between collecting rain in a bucket and capturing light photons in photography. - Explaining exposure in photography-controlling the duration of light entering the camera (shutter speed). 08:21 🎥 *Significance of Shutter Speed* - Highlighting the crucial role of the camera shutter in capturing fast events. - Discussing how a fast camera shutter is essential for recording quick movements. 09:03 📸 *High-Speed Visual Information Processing* - Our eyes and brain can be overwhelmed by excessive information. - Limiting the shutter time in a camera allows capturing visual information in small time periods. 09:43 ⚡ *Advanced Camera Shutter Control* - Electronic control in modern cameras allows for very short shutter times. - Bullet firing events can be captured with precision using advanced camera shutter control. 10:10 🔦 *Manipulating Light for Capturing Events* - Leveraging lasers enables precise manipulation of light flashes for better control. - Light flashes are crucial for capturing visible objects during events. 10:51 💡 *External Light Flashes and Nobel Laureate's Demonstration* - Controlling small flashes of light on an object allows capturing events within a limited shutter time. - Nobel laureate Ferenc Krausz demonstrates using external light flashes to capture fast events without relying solely on the camera shutter. 11:32 🔄 *Understanding Fast Events and Light Flashes* - Laser pulses used for capturing fast movements in attosecond time scales. - Introduction to femtosecond, attosecond, and time scales beyond, revealing the limits of traditional cameras. 11:46 🎯 *Laser Technology for High-Speed Capture* - Explanation of how lasers produce small light flashes for detailed capture. - The application of short laser pulses for capturing fast movements beyond the capabilities of regular cameras. 12:00 ⚡ *Femtosecond and Attosecond Laser Pulses* - Introduction to femtosecond and attosecond laser pulses. - Discussion about the incredibly small time scales involved in attosecond events. 12:14 📏 *Exploring the Limits: Femtosecond to Attosecond* -
