3. How to add color to the concrete mix
4. How to pour the colored concrete
5. How to stamp the concrete'
6. How to saw expansion joints to help control random cracking
7. How to wash and clean your stamped concrete before sealing
8. How to apply your stamped concrete sealer
9. Installing a 400 sq. ft. stamped concrete patio
10. Installing a 18' x 12' stamped concrete patio
11. My recommended sealer for stamped concrete
12. How to maintain your stamped concrete
13. When to start the finishing process before stamping

Hello from Windsor Ontario, I did a little concrete when I was putting myself through university. Haven’t done anything more then some patch work in years. I just had an opportunity to build a new home and after watching your videos I will be purchasing your course and doing my patio and drive way. I’ll send you some pictures when I’m done. I will be taking your advice and start with a small slab that my garden shed will be on then work through the other projects. Thanks again for the great content.

Hi Mike, great looking job. I am a retired concrete finisher of 30 plus years from east central Indiana. I have done two years of stamping concrete from pool decks, driveways, patios, mezzanines, kitchen floors, indoor spa floors, but when we did it we had to throw the color by hand and float it in (because the concrete company’s would not put the color in there trucks) then throw the release, What a dirty job it was. Since then I had finished up my career in doing highways, bridges, walls, tanks, curbs etc. Concrete finishers make it look very easy just as you guys do, that’s when the average Joe who watches these videos can get them self in a world of trouble! Like you say, it’s all in the condition of the day, sub base & mix not to mention the timing! So for all you folks thinking you got this, you just might want to have someone with so knowledge close by! Hay Mike, you got this!!! PS. We use front end discharge trucks around here, the driver can move the shut up and down right and left from in the cab, it comes in very handy.

Hey Mike!! You have one of most informative content on concrete pours and finishes. So first, thank you for sharing. I’m down north in Ontario. I heard you mention many jobs sites in Maine where there are some freeze thaw cycles. And from what i’ve seen the stamped concrete holds up well. Would it hold up for 5-7 years in ontario where the negative temperature hits -30 Cand summer can be as high as +30 C. I’m think of doing a half inch overlay on existing 6 inch thick pad. This area is exposed to rain, snow and sun, needs to be shovled and will have salt over it. Its an outdoor balcony about 200 sq ft and has a pitch for drainage.

I recently had a 10x11 patio stamped in a flagstone design. It looks great except for about a 1 1/2 sq ft area in which not enough color was added and it has already been sealed. What are my options here? Contractor will return next week to see what can be done. Just for that area can sealer be removed, color added and sealer replaced or is there a better option? Thx

I’m a concrete contractor for 40 years in Northern California. I just found your videos. The biggest thing different that I’ve noticed between our techniques is here in Northern California during the summer it’s average is 85 to 95°. Concrete most of the time comes hot and I am not able to pour large jobs without any control joints because there will be cracks appearing in usually 5 to 12 hours after we finish. If you don’t put joints in in saw cut later. Do you ever have issues with cracks? do you ever put joints in on Pour day.

Hello Mr. Day I’m from Central Virginia in the blue ridge. I’ll be probably be tackling this project next year. Probably a stamped front porch. I’m handy but I’ve never done any stamp. I might hire it out. I’m building a decently large one level ranch house about 3200-3500 square foot slab build. I think my cousins and a few friends . I’m guessing about 8 people that semi know what their doing probably will be able to knock it out. Do you think I should rent a couple power trowels for a slab that big?
