Bro you’re the only video after several that helped me get my new ms251 wood boss started. I assumed I flooded it and went to start it the flooded way didn’t start then switched it to the warm start position and it fired up. It kept dying out if I didn’t give it revs I had to adjust the carburetor mix’s and it stayed idled👍

My stihl has 2 choke setting and a primer bulb

Chainsaw? It’s very seen string trimmers and leaf blowers with a primer bulb, but not a chainsaw yet!

What if I’m doing a cold start and I have it in full choke, I pull the chord like 5 times and don’t hear it sputter…should I keep pulling or switch it to half choke anyway

It may not be fully primed, so you should be able to keep pulling the chord until it sputters without flooding it. That said, switching to half choke and giving a few pulls, if you don’t get anything, switching back to full choke to keep priming shouldn’t hurt anything. Different saws may take more or less pulls, especially if the carb is dirty or the pumping membrane in the carb are old.
