You helped me so much with Hydroneer 2.0. I got back into the game a couple days before the update and all my knowledge was for the old version, so it was nice finding you and getting all the new things explained to me. Also, you are very good at tutorials, and you make the best and most thorough guides I've seen in a very long time. Edit: The beard makes it a lot better btw

Great videos, Hybridsteel! Got me back into Hydroneer. Was working on my t2 mining set up and all I could hear was water dropping from some where. Tore apart 6 t2 drills, conveyors and piping just to realize it was in your video I had playing in the background while I worked and farming Cloutium to grow my t2 rigs. 30 mins of running around my set up going, where is it!! 🤣

Small tip for anyone that struggles with dirt being dumped onto the sifting pan rather than inside it; This happens because the cursor is pointing at a gem/ore when placing the dirt. I have good results shoveling dozens of dirt into a single pan by aiming the cursor at the inside top/back wall of the pan. The gems and ore tend to overlap and stay towards the bottom, so the top/back of the pan should nearly always allow perfect shovelling without needing to empty the bucket often to avoid misplacing the dirt. For visual representation, imagine the image below is a side view of the pan. Aim your cursor roughly where the ✳ is when shoveling dirt inside the pan. \ ╦╦╦╦╦╦╦✳╦╦╦╦╦╦╦/ \ ║║║║║║║║║║║║║║║/ \║║║║║║║║║║║║║║/

Love your videos. I just started actually playing the game after buying it a few months ago. Found out how much I love the mechanical and problem solving aspects of the game. Clocked in over 30 hours in the past few days and finally fully completed my first T1 setup. Also, rake kinda OP for digging since the excavator’s gone lol

47:20 It would be perfect if the dev made pressure tanks interactable in the same way tool racks are. Pressing a button to automatically insert shards and shard bars into pressure tanks would be amazing.

one thing ive noticed, if youre so inclined.....leave the wash pans in the river, you dont have to take them out. just walk into the river with your dirt bucket and dump then brush.

im very very aware of this but after playing this game for 2 years o do things my way. comes down to a few things 1. ocd tendcies in my head say its wrong. 2. more comes down to a counting thing for when i told people how many times i had to do things so id show the process and i just carried on.. The one thing i tell people in most of my videos is "play the game your way" well this is mine

I actually leave the Pan in the River and just drop the dirt into it no need to take the Pan out of the water to scrub it yeah you take 2 or 3 more steps but i think it safes some time in the end for anyone that is interested.

I just remembered that if you crouch in the river while holding the pan it fills with water (it will work best in the deepest part of the river)

my guess with the drill on top with dirt from the hole is you are drilling 1 above ground for the game. its the drill position not the dirt type

its about where the earth is mined so if the drill is higher the soil will be worth less

Could you make a guide on how to place things, it seems to be quite difficult in many situations. My current problem is placing buckets or cauldrons under funnels. PS: In your fishing videos is seems you didn't sell your catch in the best place when comparing income to mining, I sell at jeweler (boots and all)

at the time that i sold my fish in that video i had comapred the price between the jewler and the exchange they were the same so i sold to the exchange 99 percent of the time id sell to the jewler

you shovel directly into a pan, but you can only shovel once - doesnt that mean you have to brush 4 times as often

nope so when u shovel into bucket or pan the RNG dictates your reward even shovling into a pan can get you more rewards. and this is faster so ican shovel faster into a pan and clean than keep filling up a bucket

i click left mouse and then it goes into grid mode then u press it again to set the brick if it goes red then get rid of some of the dirt which could be an obstruction

Is "Bedrock" an arbitrary term for the next tier of dirt that you can't get through without next-tier tools? It's not Minecraft, right? Also, can we skip the T1 shovel and just use a T2 shovel to get through T1 & T2 dirt?

nope bedrock is u cant dig blow it up or do anything with it.. its under t3 soil. check out my nuke video of icehelm all explained there and my tier video explaining the different tiers

because at the start i dont have a rake as the nearest one is bridgepour and sort of need money so getting the rake is low o the list to start... but tue in on saturdays live stream to see what we do later on

I agree that the prior versions were too easy/exploitable. Despite me buying Hydroneer 2 years ago, I'm only now playing it because of the 2.0 updates offer enough playability to keep me invested for a while. (That, and no more spontanteous flying trucks 😛) I hope they add some sort of questing/objective system in the future to give the progression system more purpose, and feel less sandboxy.

This game is pretty frustrating. The discovery aspect isn't rewarding - its just annoying. Your videos have been a good start...until i realized your guide was built on v1 and now this new one doesn't aim to do the same thing. It'd be great if you could do a v2 "from scratch to your first automated system".

maybe so but within a few minutes im at bedrock digging much bigger ores... where as ur on the non digable rock moving things around so u can put top level soil into a bucket

i think the discord community is stupid and elitist. if u want newcomers and new buyers u have to cater to newbies. u cant just say >hurr durr have 2000 hours and 4 years of experience in early access. lots of these QOL things are going to drive away those who are curious from 2.0. it feels like the devs are just focusing on the niche community rather than a good product

@@Hybridsteel the main menu can get stuck in a smaller resolution when in fullscreen that causes a part of the main manu to take you back to the desktop so you can only click new game and continue but not the enter button to enter the game session.
