I started my business in 2013. Website and youtube channel with first product for $130. It made $1k that year. 7 years later it turns $85k a year. It all started with an idea a website and a youtube channel.

lol I’m starting a boba and milkshake business. Sooner or later I’ll add to the menu but for now I have to start with this so I’ll have enough money for other things.

I’m still in step 1. I have worked so many part/full time jobs that just make me miserable, and made even harder by seeing friends/hs classmates all succeeding and starting their own businesses, answering to no one but themselves. I encourage anyone like me who has so much pent up energy and drive to be their own boss to consider starting an LLC and taking the plunge. So many people back down from an idea that could succeed because they think that they’re missing something that other business owners have, but it really is about making that first step and being willing to dedicate and work harder than those around you. Thanks for the video. I’m starting a new business after retiring from the military in a few months. I’m complete with you steps 1-3, and have plans on how to accomplish 4-8. Most of that was in my business plan I made. Do you by chance have a video on getting help starting an LLC, making a webpage, or getting grants to help startup costs?

I recently picked just one idea to focus on for now. I realised that all these ideas could build on each other so I made an ordered list. If no.1 does well in the future I can go a step further and so on. I’m glad you made a checklist because I definitely checked mine off out of order. Probably because once I made a choice I got all excited and went charging ahead.

I think it’s ok to start and get some clarity but the real clarity comes from actually doing. I think it’s important to give yourself some space for flexibility. Sometimes people get overwhelmed and want to have everything figured out before starting so they never actually start. So getting some clarity and taking steps and pivoting is the way to go. At least in my experience 😊

I recently started producing a product in my spare time as a hobby. I'm still validating my idea selling small amounts on online marketplaces, just to move the product out of my home. I think I've got a good idea down, but I've definitely got many more hours of planning and work to do before I've got this all fleshed out. I still can't imagine this being something I'd spend advertising dollars on, let alone having employees. That's big future stuff, for sure.
