Your patches are really something to behold :) One idea: Could you create a patch / tutorial for how to create a handpan sound? I could not find any tutorial or existing patch for it, so it might be quite a challenge. If I understand it correct that sound has quite some sympathetic resonances that give its characters?

I loveeeeee your videos so much you are pumping so much content out for free. Would you ever consider doing tutorials on sound design ? Like explaining LFOs,filters the levels macros etc etc.. how they work! Also if you ever read this would you be able to remake the sound of the synth from "Gossip- tame impala"

Incredible tutorial as always Eric! I was wondering, do you think it’s possible for you to create a Dilruba? I can’t find the sound anywhere for cheep. Idk how easy it is to make a bowed instrument in a synth, but I’d be cool to see

Could you do a tutorial on how to make the organ from the beginning of the 1975 song "If I believe you?" It's one of my all time favorite synths and I've been trying to recreate it with no luck

Thank you, Eric! One question: why do you use the LFOs rather than the Envelopes to control the envelopes of the oscillators? Is it just because of the neat editor, or is there some technical reason there?
@EricBowman
@EricBowman Жыл бұрын
Good question. You could use envelopes but the LFO gives you more control over shape. You can also change the speed of the whole shape by adjusting the frequency this way.

would be nice if you could show how to make Super Realistic Woodwind insturments (specificly whatever ones would be used in USA War or Military music) Would be useful as am currently attempting to recreate the Terminator Main titles with Realistic insturments like a real Brass insturment for example, using Vital, alongside 80s Synthesizers for stuff that doesn't need to be realistic Also alongside making a Trumpet that can be more realistic by being able to do the different ways of playing or just anything that'd make it sound even more realistic, since i'd image it'd be possible
@EricBowman
@EricBowman Жыл бұрын
Have you checked out my "realistic brass" tutorial? It's my most popular video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fr1xdNecm63UloE.html You could make the brass sound more militaristic by turning down macro 2 (attack time). For woodwinds, Jazen sounds already has a great flute tutorial: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rbyln5apsNmbqHU.html I have a clarinet in my preset pack that I may make a tutorial for at some point. The other orchestral woodwinds are double-reed instruments which I haven't figured out yet. I don't hear any woodwinds in the first Terminator main theme though. I only hear an English horn or an oboe in the 2nd Terminator theme. Another good option is the free Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra samples: www.spitfireaudio.com/bbc-symphony-orchestra-discover Less control but more realism.

@@EricBowman yea i know there isn't any of that in the original theme, as the original uses Electronic Violin and some kind of Synth Brass, am basicly trying to take the song and make it sound more realistic in certain ways, by adding some other sounds or using others to give it more of that Human sound on some insturments and more of the Technology sound on others

could you recreate the Jordan Rudess 'snarling pig' bass sound? i've been trying to get there for a while but i already know you would just use your magic to somehow know exactly what to do edit: you could use Dream Theater's 'root of all evil' as a referance track
@EricBowman

Sounds like a saw wave going through a band pass filter, then distortion, then a phaser with high feedback, then another distortion. I hope that helps

@@EricBowman just tried your suggestions and wow! i put a saw through a dirty band pass as the first distortion so i could use the effects distortion later, then followed everything else as you said and tweaked around with extra oscillators and it sounded so good so fast, thank you so much
