Crew socks have been the style since 2011-present. I’m 25, but I remember in elementary, I used to be embarrassed to go to school or leave the house with long socks on, so I would always fold/roll my socks down and ask my mom if she could buy me no-shows moving forward. Then in 2011, starting my 7th grade year, EVERYTHING changed (especially since in summer 2011-early 2012, wearing double Nike socks was a fashion trend 🤦🏽‍♂️😂😂).

I have over 1,000 pairs of socks and probably over 200 pairs unopened. I love sneakers so when I got over 100 pairs ages ago this part is a no Brainer. If I'm wearing a top gun t shirt. I might do top gun socks. On 3:16 I wear my Stone Cold socks and shirt. I don't follow Mr. Win's rules to a T. I make exceptions. Not excuses.

Having a big ol logo on the side along with the dozens of branding on the shoe is bit too tacky for me lol. That lets me buy socks like Bombas or other brands that don’t have a massive logo on the side, but you are right on socks being overlooked. See way too many people rocking their super cool thousand dollar shoes with raggedy pilling Nike Outlet socks 💀

When I see a guy wearing plain socks it’s okay but sleek but boring but when, I see contrast, I am compelled to look. It’s just psychology and science.
