There is no SSD to replace in this model. The storage is built onto the logic board.

On an A1707 you can change the SSD. You are limited to Apple SSDs specifically for the A1707 however. The battery is not easily changed in this model as it is glued to the top case.

Same thing happened to me, I had to buy better quality screwdrivers. Also stripped the thread inside some screws, tough to remove!

Alexandru Dan The speakers are not sold separately from the top case so we do not remove them. Also, the speaker would get damaged if we tried to remove them.

DARK YOSHI It is a Pentalobe 2 screwdriver, the Torx screwdrivers will not work.

Ray Adams No, you can not remove the keyboard on this model. The black material covers the keyboard backlight.

If anyone is interested I was able to replace the speaker on this laptop after finding a replacement speaker from an online "i-repair" website for $30USD. The process was very simple as the speaker can be accessed right after taking off the back panel(I also disconnected the battery during the swap). A hair dryer to heat up the metal side on the top case where the speaker was located made pulling it off defective speaker relatively painless and it left the original adhesive on the case fully in tact for the replacement.

@@henjac91a ifixit sells the part (make sure you buy the proper side, left and right speaker are different parts). After opening the back case I disconnected the battery and then the faulty speaker, I used a hair dryer to heat up the top case where the faulty speaker was located, this loosened the adhesive. I used an ifixit prying tool to pry the faulty speaker out, it took a couple times of heating and prying it a bit and then the speaker came off clean. I was lucky enough that the original adhesive stayed stuck to the case and not the speaker so I just applied some more heat and stuck the replacement speaker right on the original adhesive. After reconnecting the new speaker and battery I closed it up and it was good as new.

Steven Wanner You have to go as far as taking the Logic Board out and then you are able to remove them.
