HOW TO TATTOO FAKE SKIN for beginners. In todays tattoo tattoo tutorial we will be going over how to tattoo fake skin. Specifically we will be going over how to line fake skin while using the CNC Q2 short pen. I will let you know what voltages and needles I use and when I use them. In a future video we will go over how to shade fake skin. Tattooing fake skin can be tricky and for that reason it's important to take your time and focus on each line you make. Don't worry about how long it takes you to complete a piece just focus on doing the best job you can. I hope you all enjoy the video and thank YOU for watching!! 🤘🤘

Art-Something hey man I have two questions, one actually pertaining to tattooing lol, so when you are switching between your needle sizes do you use a new needle every time, throwing out the one you just used, or do you have three different machines all set up with a specific needle that you can pick up when you need it? Ive never seen an artist switch needles so often before, at least on me personally, Question #2 is simply where did you get your shirt because it’s badass!
@ArtSomething
@ArtSomething 4 жыл бұрын
@@venessaallaby-thompson8352 I use the same 3 needles throughout the entire lining of the tattoo. I used 3, 5 and 9 round liners. I did not open a new needle every time I switched. I just popped one cartridge out and another in as I needed them. I hope this helps man. I Honestly dont know where I got this shirt lol. Thanks for watching brother and stay safe!! 🤘🤘

@@ArtSomething Really!?! I can't stand using cartridges at all. The amount of wrap I use to increase the sharpness of my lines and to keep my hand from cramping alone has kept me away from tattoo pens. I also like to fiddle around with machine setups depending on the driving force to speed ratio. Something I don't quite grasp about rotary setups. I get that adjusting the voltage can increase or decrease speed, but how do you control the driving pressure behind those needles? To me, each machine having it's own job and set up is like choosing the right paintbrush. The gauge being the grouping and the coils being the bristle density. (Kind of...) If the world could give me the freedom of wireless and let me stick to coils, maybe then I'd be able to say the same thing. I know it's a matter of preference, yet my OCD will keep me wired to anything I understand in full mathematical conception.

Hey , I`v been practicing on synthethic for a while now . Personally I use wet tissue to clean the skin , even after I am finished with my linework . I apply petrolium gel before I tattoo and after because it makes the cleaning process much better . For synthethic skin the best I`v used are the ones that are a bit thick , 3mm < because they are more dense and higher quality . They are more expensive but the hole experience it`s worth it . I love your videos man , very informative !

Do you have any tips on how to not wipe away your whole stencil after the first wipe?
@TraceursMonkey
@TraceursMonkey 3 жыл бұрын
@@ilonahaanstra4360 First you start tattooing from bottom . Second thing you must let the stencil completley dry so when you whipe there is no chance that it comse off . A well dry stencil usually resistes even if you wash the area. If you tattoo on practice skin use the hair dryer to speed up the process . When whipeing simply and gently dab the are where you tattooed and not the hole design you your stencil dose not come off.

Nice video brother! For what it's worth, when one of my apprentices want to practice on "fake skin" the one thing I tell them is to approach it like real skin. What I mean by this is USE your 3 point stretch as though it's real skin and always keep cross-contamination in mind. I see so many fake skin videos where they don't mimic these very important techniques and practices. I understand you don't have to stretch the fake stuff, but to instill good tattooing techniques and practices imo one should still act as though they are tattooing the real deal! This will hopefully not lend itself to picking up "bad" habits and carrying them over to real people. Btw, your line work is clean and crisp my friend:) Keep on keeping on!! Cheers

Hey man! I've been tattoing on fake skin for about a month now. I watched plenty of your videos and first of all thank you for everything! I must be one of millions, but im having a hard time getting my ink to penetrate the fake skin. The place where i buy my stuff told me to sponge out the excess ink with a dry towel ( which i tried) but it seems that it doesnt work, and there is still excess ink spreading out of my lines. I tried putting vaseline before/after the sponging, still not looking good. At first i was lining a too much big part of my tattoo before wiping out which caused the ink from the beginning of the lining To be dry already. Now ive just lost hope and i just wipe it ( not sponging anymore) after every single line. So i have to do the same line over and over for like 10 times to have a decent grey/black line. It seems so easy for everybody ( especially you) to do a clean line, sponge it, and go To the next line. I'm using a coil machine with 1013 RL and sometimes a 5 RL. Running my power supply at 7,8 to 8,4. Im not having the same issues with shading, oddly. A couple whip and it looks good. Is my fake skin clean enough? Do i put too much vaseline? Thank you if your read this! Keep up the good advices and videos!

Just recently bought a tattoo gun & stocking up on all the supplies for tattooing. Even bought practice skin. I still have a few missing items to buy before I start practicing. But I cannot wait to dig in & try. I love to draw. I was the krazy, stupid kid in school with gel pens drawing all over my friends during class. So I can't wait to try out my stuff as tattoos. Thanks for the awesome tutorial videos.

Hey man, just found your channel and your by far my favorite ink channel. I about a year ago got into art and had the idea of pursuing it as a career. I have been doing stick and pokes, decent ones using my own skin as my canvas. I have given one tattoo to a close friend and it turned out great. Finally making the jump to a coil machine should be here soon. Cant wait, thanks for the awesome videos will be following your lead, you have already answered so many questions of mine. Keep it up!

Did my fist attempts at fake skin yesterday and today. 9round worked better. Anything smaller “cut” the skin and didn’t take ink that well. Also need to invest in better quality skins lol. My attempts looked ok, just have to continue practicing. Cleaning as best I could too but it just seems to wash everything gray no matter how much Vaseline I use.

Vaseline is best I've found, even after going through my wifes make up removal kit, and various cleaning products. I'm going to try pure acetone when I'm back at work. Also find colours stain fake skin when cleaning so I only really use black on them

Instead of wiping the ink away as your tattooing try dabbing the ink away, I found that it leaves less of a mess at the end for the final wipe down. Also straight vasoline seems to work better then A&D on fake skin idk why it just does. Hopefully this tip helps you and everyone else.

another great video brotha, thank you, someone may of suggested this before but the way i get the stencil in k off fake skin is i get two pieces of tissue paper or kitchen roll and then i drizzle pure thick bleach onto the fake skin then using gloves use your finger tips to massage the bleach into the whole areas needed then lay over one piece of tissue paper then drizzle aa bit more bleach then lay over the second piece of tissue, gently pat it down until its fully absorbed all bleach and you can see the tattoo through the tissue. then place the fake skin with tissue on somewhere ventilated and out the reach of children and pets and leave for around 30 mins to an hour depending on how much ink from the stencil there is, once time passed remove the tissue and rinse the skin and boom nice clean result and no stencil ink to be seen, if you still see any stencil repeat process and leave longer it does work, i hope this tip and process helps somebody thanks again dude great video.

When you tattoo fake skin and you're practicing maybe the same design like roses over again, you can get at least 2 uses out of the same stencil. The 2nd one you don't need stencil goo before you lay the stencil.

Found this video really good and helpful. I'm guessing there is different quality of fake skin because your skin takes the ink really well and mine well doesnt. Yeah I know you're a professional and I'm a beginner. Could be my machine set up or lack of skill. Cleaning wise I found kitchen cleaner helps getting the stencil off but never truly left the stencil on for that long. Love the design you did and your videos. Keep up the great work dude

When you are switching needles on "real" people do you use completely new needles or use the one u previously used? If you reuse, should I be doing anything in particular with them so the ink doesn't dry on the needle or something? I feel like I used the word "use" too many times. Use. To use a needle of a different color or when it is dry, you can clean it in sterile water (You can buy such water in a pharmacy or in stores with tattoo supplies) On real people, you only use new needles from sterile packaging, never the "previous". If you used a needle on fake skin, you can keep it but only to use it again on fake skin :)

Having trouble transferring the stencil to the fake skin. No matter what I do, it gets wiped off everytime I wipe the ink away while working, even if I am wiping with water. The stencil just doesn't stay. My method: Apply Speed stick (stencil stuff) and wait a few minutes, and apply the stencil. And it looks great on the fake skin, but as soon as I whip it with alcohol or water it leave the fake skin. Thanks for the vids.
