Have you always wanted to become a better singer?
Unfortunately, most singers start off with limiting beliefs about whether they're talented or not.
Today, I'll show you how I finally knew that I had become a great singer....

I am completely self taught.. as a teenager, I used to record myself singing on my mom's karaoke machine.. when I listened to how I sounded, I could see where I needed work and that's where I focused my practice on.. I'd do that repetitively for years, training my voice and experimenting with different sounds and ways of singing certain songs.. all it took was me dedicating myself to my practice and being honest with myself about what I needed to work on.. some songs aren't very compatible with my voice, but I learned what was for me and what wasn't.. now I can pretty much sing a multitude of different songs, male or female, no matter what genre it may be.. I passed that way of teaching myself to my daughter and she actually decided to audition for The Voice at 14-15 years old.. I supported her all the way, but told her she still needed more time to train herself because her voice wasn't yet developed enough.. after her audition, she told me that the talent scout had told her the same thing I did.. she was confused how I knew about these kinda things, because she knew I had never had any kinda professional assistance, and I told her I learned everything I know from trial and error practice and experiments.. so now she's learning how to practice with more dedication than ever before and it's paying off..STAY BLESSED NOT STRESSED

I used to do this too but instead of a karaoke machine I used two cassette tape players. I’d record myself and then rewind the tape and sing a harmony along with it while the second tape player recorded the two of me. I learned how to sing harmony that way cause I could hear where it was off and then fix it. What a primitive time that was🤣🤣

Mine just sounds nasally. Idk if it’s just how I talk or if I have a deviated septum idk I’ve never gotten it checked but I did fall on my face as a kid and needed a nose job ever since 😂 but there’s a few keys and words I can sing that sounds decent but other than that it’s just off key and nasally like if my nose is stopped up

This was incredibly helpful. I’m a huge send-doubter so I tend to feel like I’m trash at singing no matter what. But honestly, I’ve been singing in original and cover bands for about 10 years, and only in the beginning did I get an actual criticism, which was my stage presence sucked and that I needed to use my diaphragm more on the stronger notes. Nowadays I can reach out to the best musicians my city has to offer, and they’re EXCITED to work with me. So maybe I’m just insane and I’m actually a good singer, just have a very hard time believing in myself.

How to find if you're voice is good? Having doubts ?test it: 1. Record it and listen back ( don't worry if you sound like a dying goat its normal at songs your not too good at ☠️👌🏻) 2. Send voice messages to others They'll usually complement if you actually sound good(example wow your voice is so cute 🥰!) 3. Sing in public singing occasions like while singing national anthem helding school assembly etc ,people will be shocked or complement you if you are good ( yea not including your bestie 💀) 4 . Has someone in your family like aunty, mother grandma was a singer or had good voice you may be the next singer here❤ Don't give up on singing 😌🌺👐🏻 I am no professional singer i am not even a singer to be honest but i like to sing please give me your blessings bless you too!0

I have been singing since I was 9 years old. Was in choir 3 years in Jr high. I sang in my friends church in the church choir as a tenor. I've practiced with many different people. My voice seems to sound the most like Carol King. I also tried Kareokee in a bar 1 night and people actually clapped afterwards. My biggest issue is that I get very nervous and get stage fright even though I have danced in front of many audiences for many years. It's very different though. Could someone give me some advice about how to get over this problem?

I've sung ever since I can remember. I've been told my voice is pretty. I can't really explain why I'm at least decent at it. It's taken me time to figure things out. How I've seen it: Learning to sing is a journey. For some it takes a ton of time, others it just comes easily and flows like water. People can be mean and really hurt your pride when they bluntly give you criticism that's more like an insult. These are things you do not want to take personally. What you do want to listen to is specific feedback/criticism. It's just a part of life when learning a new skill, and criticism is vital to get better. I absolutely echo vocal training with a good coach!! They can help you really experiment and get you acquainted to music. Spend time by yourself too. Really listen to yourself, figure out what feels right and what's challenging. Get intimate with your voice and that will definitely start to lead you places. It can be a really good destressing tool as well.

When I was a 7 year old, I wanted to become a singer, when I was 8 my dad said that I'm a really bad singer. Skip to my teens, I tried to sing again, some of my friends who were into music said I suck at it so I gave up again. Now when I became an adult my ex who was in a church choir and professionally trained singer said that I'm not a good singer and can never be so I should give up. Hence, I completely gave up, I think they were right. Sometimes we just don't get things we want in life and that's okay.

Well lemme say, at first even a screaming cat sounded better then me, but after 2 years i am finaly seeing some improvement. Because my mom said i was bad when i was 8 im still scared to sing with others around me, but thats okay, i know ill get there at some point. Untill that i will just keep practicing alone. Just sing, and watch others sing. Others like withney, or mariah or other great singers. And record ur voice. Listen back to it. Then u will become better, i know it for 100% Please do this and then give me a update in a year

I’ve heard good feedback from trainers, teachers, strangers. But like. I still feel like I’m terrible. Especially when it’s all I have and even that’s mediocre. At least in my eyes. I don’t know how to get over MY criticism. I know I can be so SO much better but I just never quite reach that level. Always just barely below my expectations. Others praise me when I sing but I’m always in my own head going over every thing I did wrong. Breath was too long here, off beat there, and didn’t quite have the right resonance with that high note, etc. I want to improve but I fear I’m the one holding myself back from embracing and improving at the one thing I love

I mean I kinda see what you mean, I think that lower voices are harder to keep on pitch and mens voices tend to be louder and rougher so sounding musical can be difficult. Im a bass-baritone and my voice is very loud even thou people wouldnt think so lol because I speak kinda low but anyway it makes my low notes pretty difficult to keep tight. My best singing range is from ~F#2-E4 in chest voice and my full range in chest in somewhere around D2-A4 but thats usually impractical af because I have to push those notes and it doesnt sound very good atleast not to me personally, not that really anything I sing sounds good to me lmfao

Yeah, you’re misusing the term narc… This is merely confidence, being proud of his achievement,.. and there’s zero wrong with this, whatsoever.

i feel like you’re jealous that he’s a tenor and you’re probably either a baritone or a bass (which btw there’s nothing wrong with that, frank sinatra was a baritone)

@@gloomybear.420 how don't u know Avi? He's a bass and a singer I adore. Especially since I'm a girl who has sexually matured, I can't stand tenors. They are just turn-offs. Another girl in my class got scared of the music teacher's deep voice, but you could tell she was really infantile in thinking
