Imagine you’re playing a video game and you get to make design your character. On you first option you need to pick between male and female, and then instead of playing the game, you just hangout on this menus page. That’s what it’s like if you your a person that thinks they can fee gender

As someone who has been raised as a man, I'm so confused. While I enjoy things that are seen as manly, I also enjoy things that are seen as girly. But it doesn't feel wrong to me. I don't see dresses and makeup as feminine, I see them as cute. I don't see sports or action movies as masculine, I see them as cool. I don't understand what what I'm feeling. Am I just a man who enjoys feminine things or something else?
@TheNitpickChick10 ай бұрын
I would say that gender isn’t really connected to your personal hobbies or interests, it’s more a core part of who you are, and how you feel comfortable in your body and in the world. There are plenty of men who wear dresses and makeup, because they enjoy that aesthetic, and they still feel completely comfortable identifying as men. There are also plenty of nonbinary folk who present fairly masculinely, and enjoy all the traditional “manly” things, but don’t feel comfortable identifying as men, because that’s just not who they are at their core. Whether you’re a man who likes feminine things, or whether you’re a different gender, is really something only you can figure out for yourself. Do some research into other gender identities and labels, try out different pronouns in your head for yourself, think about how you would truly prefer to present yourself if there were no obstacles (like with body type, hair, clothes), etc. Pay attention to what instinctually makes you uncomfortable or just doesn’t feel quite right, and what makes you feel happy or euphoric. It can be an enlightening journey, even if you decide that you’re comfortable with your current gender, in the end. I wish you the best. 😊

@@TheNitpickChick Wow this was all super helpful. The label non binary, and separating myself from strictly using he/him pronouns, does make me happy. I'll make sure to take time to think and do research. But most importantly just be myself. Once again, thank you. It really means a lot. :)

@EmbodimentOfEvil9 ай бұрын
@@hiiamperson3573 Yeah, I've definitely thought I may be a femboy before. But honestly it just doesn't feel right. First, I don't hate being masculine. There are some aspects of masculinity I enjoy and like expressing. But I also enjoy some aspects of feminity and like expressing that too. I don't want to be seen as a man who likes looking like a woman. I want to be me. Wether I look more traditionaly masculine or traditionaly feminine doesn't matter to me, I just look like me because it's comfortable. Ideally, I'd prefer to look more androgynous. Not to pass as non binary, just looks nice and comfy. But with all that said, I'm open to anything.

@@DeadlyNightShadeBloom I would agree with you. Let's view it from the other side and let's say a person asks about another one's gender and they reply with "I'm binary" (which is the umbrella term for male and female). The other person would understand what they mean but wouldn't get a picture of the other person's gender. When they say they're male then it's more clear. Hope this helps^^

Honestly, there is no right answer. It is whatever you want it to be. I'm agender and DO feel as if I fall under the nonbinary umbrella, not DON'T feel like I fall under the trans umbrella. Don't let anyone tell you how to identify. Identify with what feels right for you.

It may seem that way, but in reality, it's just that it's become more safe and acceptable to be lgbtq. In the past, it was incredibly shunned, and people who were queer could be beaten, sent to jail, or even murdered. But now, we realize that maybe murdering people who are slightly different from you isn't such a good idea. It's just like with being left-handed. If you look at the rate of left-handed-ness, you'll see a massive increase in the 20th century. Of course, the rate didn't actually increase, it just became more normalized.
