Hey there, today I'm going to show you how to test the capacitor of a distributor in your car to troubleshoot ignition problems.
First, locate the distributor in your car's engine. It's usually a round component with wires coming out of it.
Next, carefully disconnect the wires from the distributor. Be sure to note where each wire was connected.
Now, using a multimeter set to measure capacitance, place the probes on the capacitor terminals.
Check the reading on the multimeter. If the capacitor is functioning properly, the reading should be increasing and then it will show infinity. it means capacitor is working properly.
If the reading is outside the range, it's likely that the capacitor is faulty and needs to be replaced.
Before replacing the capacitor, double-check all connections and wires to ensure there are no other issues causing the ignition problem.
Once you've confirmed the capacitor is the issue, replace it with a new one and reconnect all wires to the distributor.
And there you have it! By testing the capacitor of your distributor, you can diagnose and fix ignition problems in your car.
