Disclaimer: This is NOT me telling you to hit bouys and be happy with narrow skiing! This is more about changing your mindset and realising you will see a very different view at the shorter line lengths!
As always that you so much for checking out the video and feel free to leave any questions or requests in the comments!

Rob, My man, it’s like you wrote this for me. Exactly the challenge I am facing. Thank you for your insight. Love your videos and always root for you on TWBC!

Rob this is $$$! I've been working on 35 off and I realize I tend to ski too high on the boat in an effort to get width which in turn causes me to get slack. I also bullseye the #1 instead of looking down course instead of just trusting my position. I will definitely work on changing my mindset, thanks! Great to meet you at Hilltop by the way!

Thanks Rob, been really struggling to get anywhere past 2 on my 12m pass. Will try and think and apply this next time out!!

This was brilliant thanks very much Rob. Such an important mindset which tbh I’m still struggling with, but this video really helps. Another aspect which you didn’t touch on but I realise is linked to width is being comfortable extending out so far with your arm. You don’t have to do this at 14 so get a little lazy but at 13 and beyond it feels like you are reaching so far you will literally fall over! (especially for us righties at 1 ball). I also notice you use a Will Asher style loose finger grip to relax and help with this process. If I find myself over gripping I can’t seem to straighten my elbow properly. Kinda helps when you have line tension though.

I’ll probably never get to those shorter lengths. But good advice. I’m 52 and finally skiing comfortably 32mph at 22off, would you suggest working on 34mph or dropping to 28-30mph @28 off? I’m nervous about taking a hard fall at the faster speeds.

Hey, just making a video on this question but would love to know if you plan on skiing in tournaments, if your male or female (let’s me know your top speed) and if you ski in the course! Making the video tomorrow so would be awesome to get some answers asap!

I haven’t skied a tournament for a couple of years, back issues, but hope to next year. I’m a male so I think top speed is 34. I have access to a friends course so I get on it about 3-5 times a month. Thanks for responding!
