earned the hard way. I painted my kitchen last winter. Touched up a few spots after removing an outlet cover (which tore up the first applied paint in the winter) and the new touchup paint went on differently. Shadowy. Just realized painting in different temperatures will yield different results

Tried this and completely cocked up my wall had to repaint found the stipple method blends best but still need do whole wall at some point unless you don’t care about the marks

With any gloss paint you cannot do touch up straight on it will look amazing but at the right angle you will see all those brush marks

Good advise, but may I suggest you lose the annoying music interludes on the next vid. Your low voice is constantly being interrupted by the loud music...hard to stay watching.

No advise is better than bad advise... don't touch up the middle of a wall with a brush, you will 100% see the touch up. Get yourself a roller a feather with a roller.

2 - 2 1/2 inch angled cut brush any brand will work but you get what you pay for with quality brushes

I think the word to use is "minimizing" instead of "minimalizing".

Lucia Robins cut out a sample chip of paint from your wall take it to a paint store and they can match the color you can get a small amount of the paint for the touch up

Well if it's still there after five years...but no really clean it, not with water but with a paint-safe solvent. Otherwise go to any hardware store that sells paint and tell them about what color it is and ask for some color swatches. And there are some apps that work well if you're in a good neutrally-lit area with a decent phone camera, too.

Was there a single useful thing here that a person could remember for a future touch-up? I just realized where the feeling of deja Vu was from and it's the miss america "many u.s. Americans don't *have* maps and the such as" answer. Everything this lady says sounds like that answer

The word is 'Minimizing'..... not 'MiniMALizing.' Videos are always annoying with background porn music.

tgilldesign The difference between minimize and minimalizeis very subtle. In many cases, either word would work and they would mean the same thing. However, some would argue that minimalizeimplies striving for minimalism, which isn't quite the same as simply making as small as possible.

Bill Main yeah. I'm sure that was her rationale. Edit: so you googled the word and pasted the 'feeling lucky' response as your own? Suppose it doesn't really matter; I just have a strange desire to ensure that nobody benefits in any way whatsoever from this steaming heap of a tutorial. More importantly, as a native english speaker, I've never heard that word spoken - except by this lady, erroneously.

Nope...this only leaves glossy and discolored marks on the wall. Arguably worse than the scuffs themselves. Theres no such thing as "touching up" and feathering is the least effective of all methods. The wall must be repainted.

Dude feathering is BY FAR the most-used method. You don't have to repaint the wall if it's not too aged, you abso-fuckin'-lutely can do a spot repair with feathering but LIKE SHE SAID (if you watched before you commented anyway) that if it's an old wall, and you might just want to paint the whole wall...jesus you're just an asshole Kevin, aren't ya? Watch the damn video before commenting and literally just saying exactly the same thing she says (except for your dumbass "feathering don't werk durrr" comment)

Look at it from the side when the suns on it. The higher the gloss the worse it will be. Its not a solution to touch up, it has to be done perfectly each coat.
