I watched *HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2* for the first time and I absolutely love it! Movie Reaction.
In this video, I'm sharing with you my reaction to watching *HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2* for the first time. This was such a good sequel! If you're a fan of the movie, then I guarantee you'll love this video!
How to Train Your Dragon 2 is a 2014 American animated action fantasy film loosely based on the book series of the same name by Cressida Cowell. Produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by 20th Century Fox, it is the sequel to the 2010 film How to Train Your Dragon and the second installment in the trilogy. The film was written and directed by Dean DeBlois, and stars the returning voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T.J. Miller, and Kristen Wiig, along with Cate Blanchett, Djimon Hounsou, and Kit Harington joining the cast. Set five years after the events of the first film, the film follows twenty-year-old Hiccup and his friends as young adults as they encounter Valka, Hiccup's long-lost mother, and Drago Bludvist, a madman who wants to conquer the world.

The "A mother never forgets" scene was in the first TRAILER for this movie, spoiling tons of people months in advance. Utterly baffling decision by the marketing team.

you’d DEFINITELY love the animated series that are in between the first and second movie. there’s soo much lore, new dragons, relationship building and characters that are in the series the first one is when they’re still teens and the second is in their 20s

"where do you get your flamethrower?" Hiccup´s fire sword is actually called Inferno, and the how he created it isone of the few missing links that are explained in the T.V show, also I would recommend watching the shortfil Gift of the Night Fury, since it got a few callbacks in the franchise here and there

16:26 "i don't understand the logic behind the chains on the tusks" Drago would have had the bewilderbeast captive since it was very young, and those chains have probably stayed on its tusks for its entire life. The weapon drago uses is called a bull hook, and it's what people use in real life to abuse baby elephants so they stay obedient even when they grow up.

If Stoic's death hurts, imagine if you had watched the TV series that took place between the two movies. You get to see him more. Get to know him better 😢 While I prefer the first one, this is still a great sequel. Sad reality is... the Bewilderbeast's abuse is more real than you can imagine. Think elephants. So much torture when young makes them believe they can't do anything about it, not even when they're fully grown and could easily overpower humans if they wanted to.

This one is personally my least favorite of the trilogy (not that it's bad or anything, far from it, I just like the 1st and 3rd ones better). One thing I will say though, is the weight of the loss in this movie is crazy to think about within the context of the franchise. I mean just think for a second, for a small amount of time, Hiccup had his father, his mother, his dragon (who's his best friend) and then moments later the villain takes two of those things from him! One temporarily and one permanently. Man, Stoik's death is always hard to watch!

😎👍 You're always fun to watch. The "Shrek," "Madagascar," and "Kung Fu Panda" franchises might all be fun, but THIS trilogy is definitely the jewel in Dreamworks Animation's crown. 🐉 A lot of the studio's other enormously entertaining movies are one-offs like "Over The Hedge" (2006), "Flushed Away" (2006) and "Mr. Peabody & Sherman" (2014).

To explain, Drago basically captured the other Bewilderbeast while it was a baby, and kept it chained and abused while still a baby to the point that it developed learned helplessness as an adult in much the same way elephants were trained in circuses.

The music and beauty of the scenery are amazing. My only hiccups (pun intended) are the 2 random powerups Toothless got. His spine wings and the end when he's blue
@nhouse01
@nhouse01 7 ай бұрын
yeah. I would say that the spines can be justified as like maybe an adult-stage thing, since Valka says he's hiccup's age so he must be barely an adult, and there was no adult night fury to show it to him so Valka had to do it -- and that serves the purpose of showing that Valka knows more about the dragons than even Hiccup. But the blue thing is a bit out of nowhere, I wish there had been some kind of set-up for it.

Drago abused the bewilderbeast since young with a bullhook, I feel really bad for it. Thankfully Drago drowned because he lost his prosthetic and couldn't swim.
@pogpogpog7507
@pogpogpog7507 7 ай бұрын
he actually didn't drown! he ended up in what is essentially a bubble of air covering the ruins of a lost city at the bottom of the ocean. hiccup comes across him a little while later. it's an unreleased canonical graphic novel (fire tides) that the authors are hoping will eventually see the light of day. but in the meantime, there's an interview with the co-author richard hamilton available on audrie greywind's channel where he explains basically the entire plot of this third graphic novel in the series.

Okay. So, I love the first movie. The second one I enjoy a lot and the third was very well done. I love the franchise. Having said that...I remember watching the first two movies around when they came out. I hadn't watched them since then. And before the third one came out I had decided to re-watch them. And I saw that there was a show that took place between the first two movies and that it was still going. So, I decided to watch the first movie, then watched the entire show, then re-watch the second movie all before the third came out. Suffice to say that I didn't make it in time to see the third movie in theaters and I was sad about that. By the time I got to the second movie, which I barely remembered, I was excited to see if any of the character development from the shows continued on in the second movie, but of course, since the movie was made before shows finished, that couldn't have happened. I noticed some things happened fast at the end of the show that were meant to connect to what happened in the movie and I understood that. But, what I was then excited for was the potential for the third movie to involve the vast lore and character development and threads from the show(s) into the final movie because the show had ended or would have been close to ending before the movie came out. I thought that was a reasonable expectation, once again, nope. There were dragons from the show in the third movie, but nothing else carried over. And that really kind of let me down. I loved the growth of the characters during each season of the show, there was even a small time-jump. And I understand that the show and the movies were essentially different teams making each, but I just enjoy lore and characters being well-developed, if you couldn't tell. And now there's a spin-off show that takes place in present day that seems to be spinning out of the show, but I guess it's from both the movies and shows, and I really have been enjoying it too. It takes a while to connect the dots but it gets there. But yes, if you just watch the movies on their own, they mesh perfectly and and certainly worth the watch, but if you want a bit more lore-building and want to see the kids map out the islands and meet all the different dragon species, I'd certainly suggest watching the show. And as I mentioned before, there is a lot of character development that kind of gets sidelined in the 2nd and 3rd movies, but eh. The order of the seasons is: Riders of Berk, Defenders of Berk, and then the last season is called Race to the Edge. And even if you don't watch the show, I'd still suggest the Dragons: The Nine Realms sequel series that takes place in modern times, as mentioned before. Oh and there is a little epilogue movie that takes place "after" the third movie. So, after you get to the third one, there's that if you want. I'd give the show(s) a chance too. But either way, I love this franchise and I hope the current show goes on for a while longer. Sorry for the huge text chunk! XD
