@Nurse Katherine I have a question, I have my compact license from Virginia, I recently moved to Pennsylvania because my husband job transferred him. Can I work in Maryland because Pennsylvania take a lot of time to endorsements? I'm living close to Maryland board that's why my question.

So I currently hold a New York nursing license and I’m moving to either New Jersey or Georgia which are both compact states if I get a license in those states will I be able to practice in other compact states?

Ok so, I just mailed off application, paid fingerprinting fee, paid for Nursys to verify license, I did not however have HR fill out the job hours, due to the fact that I have not been working as an RN at my job. Was this a mistake on my part? I took it that this portion needed to be done if I had been working as an RN??? Plz help

I can’t take the nclex anymore in ga because it’s been 3 years since i graduated. Now I’m forced to take the nclex in fl and i dont know if doing too endorsement to ga is going to be easy. I reside in ga. Any help or advice?

Hey! Well if you want to obtain your license I would try any way possible! Will FL let you sit for your exam there even thoughtl your not a resident or working there?

Hey Anna, my advice to you would be to follow the state board of nursing PA website as much as possible, as confusing as it can be!

Hi Katherine I have lived in Pennsylvania and I did pass my nclex a week ago, but we have move to Virginia. Right now I am very confuse I have my RN number from PA but I have to transfer from PA to VA. meanwhile I don't have my certificate yet. I haven't done my finger print background check because I don't know where I have to send it and the application by it self is little bit confusing! I am very frustrating.

What about a nurse who wants to travel, can I just apply for a license to work anywhere from the very start?

There are compact states and non compact states. Compact states allow you to use one license in those states, non compact you have to apply for a license in that individual state.

My entire license has been delayed. If you simply go onto GBON website there are directions for out of state applicants. Texas may be easier than PA to transfer.

Go online to Floridas board of nursing and you should be able to find out of state nursing license transfer info there!

My license was up for renewal this year, so I just switched from a SSL to a MSL aka compact state. Switching to a compact license in Alabama was superrrr easy. Fingerprinting for NV and CA licenses are a pain in the butt lol AND PLEASE DO AN ATLANTA APARTMENT TOUR PLS

I could have kept my PA license and held a GA license at the same time. I decided to however allow my PA license to run out as I no longer lived there and did not want to pay for it since I would not live there anymore.

The fingerprinting part was the biggest hassle, I ended up just going to Georgia to get them done (I was going to visit friends anyway). Everything is done by mail, I express shipped mine just to get the process started sooner. If you graduated from nursing school in the last four years all you have to submit is your transcript versus having HR notarizing your work hours.

Yes that also happened fo me 😭 when I sent it last year the right place to send the fingerprints was to the Calofornia address not the Ohio address.

Me too. Sent currently waiting for my license to be approved. Sent my finger prints to the wrong address before learning that I had to send to a California address which I did a few weeks ago but still waiting. Is there anything else I can do to expedite this process am really frastuated

If you work in Philly you have to pay an extra tax and there are no laws on nurse to patient ratios like there are in California.

I have to relocate my license to KY from OH because my lpn to Rn program requires it. I have no desire to live in ky but they said I need a compact license. So annoying ! Just to get ahead in life lol

This is literally why I’m watching this video. I am trying to reinstate my OH LPN license then transfer to a KY license. What steps did you take to transfer? I found it intimidating 5 years ago before I let my license lapse.

@@julieweatherspoon2015 just applied by endorsement. That’s it put your new address on as your current address. I think you have to take a test starts with a J . And background check. I got my in a week. FYI Ohio passed and will be part of compact however it won’t go into affect until 01/01/2023.

Hey there! So I can share my experience with transferring to a GA license. What I simply did was get on the State board of nursing website for both PA and GA and looked at the requirements. It is A LOT OF WORK to transfer. I had to get finger prints done and then was told to send them to an address... which was the wrong address... so it was a bit of a mess. Eventually after many many phone calls and waiting on hold I was able to figure it out but it took much longer than it needed too.
