I have hard skin on the side of my index finger on left hand, I am afraid it could be because some time ago I touched liquid on top of lead battery which I suppose was sulphuric acid.

When the callouses get thick, the secret is to use just enough oil to prevent them from cracking, in the same way as looking after your work boots. With reasonable care, picking up a broken glass never cuts through my callouses and I did not get any burns the day that a tea towel caught alight on the cooker and I quickly scrunched it out with my hands. Do you find that your calloused hands can resist sharp objects and putting burning paper and rags out.?

I've got one on my right pinky finger right in the middle of the crease where the finger bends. How the heck do I get rid of it. Hurts like hell. File it down a million times it comes right back..
