How to Unlock Bootloader on LG Android! [Android Root 101

To unlock bootloader on LG Android smartphones, there are several different methods. The easiest method is the official bootloader unlock method supported officially by LG. For all other LG smartphones, you will have to find an unofficial version floating somewhere on the interwebs. Before you can root or install custom ROMs, you will need to unlock the bootloader. For full written instructions and latest updates, please check this post before trying to unlock your bootloader:

LG G6: US997.USA for the U.S. open market
LG G6: H870 for the European market
LG V20: US996.USA for the U.S. open market

LG G5: RS988.USA for the U.S. open market

I'm stuck on bootloader on the LG K30 Android Cellphone, I try holding the volume down button and the power button, it goes back to the bootloader, sometimes when it vibrates, sometimes I will let go and do it again then I'm stuck on the LG logo screen, can you help me please

I would love to see you play with an Allview X2 Xtreme/BLU Pure XL/Gionee Elife E8(showing us how to install custom recovery, root them, etc)... all these phones are the same, just different brands.

everysingle time I try to do a command it says (waiting for device) i am on the restart bootloader, start, power off option... can't move on from that. LG logo comes on and stays there... any guidance would be Highly appreciated.

I have an LG Rebel 4. LG no longer supports unlocking the bootloader on their website. Plus, when I run the command "adb reboot bootloader" it won't boot to the bootloader, only a regular reboot. Can you help?

Max i have a question. I own a Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus on At&t, but my phone is also unlocked as well. I want to convert it into a Tmobile phone. How do i go about doing that ? Meaning when my phone boot up it wont show At&t, but Tmobile instead.

it says LG G6 LS-997 US variants , i have the LS-993 (sprint G6 ) i've been searching and trying to unlock it for days no luck when i use adb command for fastboot reboot, it just reboots into OS again not fastboot everything is set properly, debugging n such and adb on PC HELP!!! thanks :D

My LG G7 thinq LM-710ULM doesn't boot into bootloader when I type the command "adb reboot bootloader" instead it just restarts the phone. I can get into download mode but that's it.

I don't have any favorite one but try the one that works for you. If you want to stay safe, go with a Magisk module, which won't affect your system and prevent bootloops in case you flash the wrong files.

When I put Adb reboot bootloader it just restarts the phone. The phone didnt appear on the lg list but I used an unofficial guide and followed the instructions but it just seems to restart the phone.

The Canadian LG G5 doesn't have support for bootloader or any root method to unlock to his full potential. LG doesn't want people to have it unlocked. 😭😭 It is the same case for the Canadian LG G Pad III 8.3 FHD.. 😕😕
